Hello,

I did notice that I need a lot's of thrust that the Tomcat will start to move on the ground for taxi,  compared to another fighters in DCS like F16 or FA18C and still when the Tomcat is low on fuel and has no weapons, in the NATOPS manuel of the Tomcat their are writing that it is enough to start moving only one thrust lever and then when the Tomcat is moving to pull him back into Idle and let him into this position and the Tomcat will still taxi.

I think HB already know this issue for while, but when will come a fix for that ?

As I did transition IRL from glider flying to start my PPL, the first lesson which I learned was that a flight is starting on the ground with taxing🙂

So I think is real important for a high class simulations which the Tomcat of HB is that a correct taxi behavior is added to the plane !

Thank you very much and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

It will be real fun to slide off the carrier when it changes direction...

This has been reported numerous times, ground handling has already been listed as a planned rework point in the future.

Keep in mind, nearly every aircraft in DCS has ground traction issues with the ground being too sticky essentially.

I believe in the past the response was "We're waiting on ED to finalize how carrier deck interactions work so we don't have to fix it twice."

Which........well, "Waiting on ED"......especially with the Supercarrier.......ya know.

Which is weird when you put a F-16 or Mig-29 on a carrier and it taxies just fine and doesn't slide away.

How do 14 of them do together on a pitching deck while the carrier is in a turn in 2020?

Because ED just re-fudges it in the interim. Heatblur is waiting for them to actually make any actual commit because Heatblur is 10 or so people and ED is close to 150.

Until ED lets us know what they do in the F16 or MiG29, etc - there is not much point for us to fiddle around with not all the info that we need. It is normal that they want to finalize something for themselves first, before sharing it with us - in that sense we need to patient. Thank you!

Hey IronMike, the Tomcat is also permanently drifting to one side while taxiing/takeoff. Is that also somthing that will be worked on or regards the groundmodell overhaul only the inertia?

If it is slight that is iirc the front wheel position, or something like that. I havent noticed it to make a significant impact yet, but many planes share a similar behavior.

Yeah thats true. The F14 is not the only plane with this behavior but I dont understand why the planes are permanently drifting to one side. For me it feels very strange
