I'm working on my authentikit spitfire stuff. And realised I'm gonna be missing a button for my zoom.

The paddle grip doesn't have an extra button,  and when I finish the throttle. The only button that has is the bomb release. Which I need to release bombs with even if I never hit anything with them.

Any ideas? I thought about using one of the break paddles but that might be a bad idea as I might hit it as I use the rudder. And since the VR zoom is universal across all planes. it's not really an option.

It's relatively easy to wire up an extra button or two to an Arduino, could you attach an extra button to the stick/throttle?  Or if that's not authentic enough, attach it to your headset?

Sounds like your best bet is a small button box . There are 2 vr zoom functions (a shorter-range "slow" zoom , and a longer-range "fast" zoom) , and you'll likely need a vr view re-center button as well . Alternatively , if you do find an authentikit button you can use , or  take up Sielu's idea , you can set it as a modifier and have a second function available for all buttons/switches on the authentikit .

I use voice attack for my vr recenter,  I'm toying with using it for zoom too. The problem is the zoom will be a set amount of time.

As a variant on this idea, do you have volume buttons on your headset? You could use autohotkey to map them to another key, then use that key in DCS - I used to use vol up on my Pimax to do salutes in the F-18. With zoom, it would be like holding binoculars 😄

What about placing a small wired/wireless NumPad only keyboard close to your throttle and assign thing there.

It could be a cheap solution.
