investigating tacan issue Mission 6 Experiences

Hello,

Did the mission today and got the same bug as lot of people, TACAN is not working so hard to find the Tanker (and we miss the part were we must open the door  )

Are you using the TACAN in A/A mode or A/G mode? Because (and I think this is a "feature") it should work in AG mode now... but I will check

I just finished the campaign (only took me a year to get around to it lol).  I can confirm that the TACAN doesn't work in A/A, but does work in A/G mode.

Loved the campaign btw.  When is part 2 coming out?  I can only assume it will go deeper into weapon deployment, which I sorely need! lol

Hi @baltic_dragonYes, I am having issues with the radio tuning to 141.250 AM. Kneeboard says 141.250 AM, and I set the ARC210 to this frequency. But when I contact the Tanker via the F10 it sets my ARC radio to 141.250 FM, could this be the issue?

BTW: I am starting this mission from just the AAR section.

PS: I just tried the mission from AAR with easy radio off and tuned to both 141.250 AM and 141.250 FM and the tanker did not respond. But I did hear the tanking WP callouts with the radio set to 141.250 AM.

@Excal301 make sure you are not on FM band when switching the freq, this is a common problem / user error with the new radio. I am 99% sure this is the issue.

I also have the problem with the tanker not responding. There are three possible keybindings in the A-10C II control options for the HOTAS MIC Switch that I can see. MIC switch AFT, MIC switch down and MIC switch Forward. They are used to transmit either on INTERCOM, UHF or VHF FM Radio as I can see on top of the radio menu. There is no keybinding for the MIC switch available to use the VHF AM Radio. I'm pretty sure there should be also a "MIC switch up" keybinding that is missing somehow.

Yes @baltic_dragon confirming that you were >99% correct. Using 'easy radio' switched to FM. Used 141.250 AM manually and worked fine.

Yes, same here. With 'easy communications' set to 'on' the VHF radio switched back to FM mode after I dialled in the frequency of the tanker. Therefore one of my radios transmitted on 'intercom' instead of VHF AM. After I set the VHF radio back to AM (a second time) everything worked. 

And you will only receive the TACAN signal from the tanker if TACAN is set to 'TR' instead of 'AA'.

Great campaign so far. I'm really loving it. The best thing is, that the mission scripts are very forgiving, so even if you miss something, they will always catch up at a certain point.

@baltic_dragon I'm very sorry to say that I'm having immense difficulties playing this campaign due to all of the communications issues, static, typos, scripted errors that DCS updates have inserted into your campaign.

Thanks for the DM. Replied. But I'll repeat what I said there: this campaign worked flawlessly  before radio changes were implemented to DCS and we warned that these changes will affect a lot of campaigns. Trying to fix it would take dozens of hours and basically redoing big chunks of the campaign from scratch, so we are working with ED to find an easier solution...

For the public record, I think Baltic makes the best campaigns for DCS in the world.
