nootshell Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 (edited) By allowing us to play audio from a 3D point, we can make significantly more immersive missions. One fairly simple example, and actually my main use case right now, is alarms that are going off at an airbase in case of a QRF launch. Other uses would be adding custom background chatter in various mission-related locations to improve the quality and level of immersion. Additionally, being able to attach sound to other units would add in another level of possible immersion as one can add warning/curfew/emergency related sounds to units. AviaAlex12 Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 This would be really awesome and useful for also making more realistic missions...like interceptions for example. 1

feefifofum Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Custom sound emitters have been a long standing request...no traction yet unfortunately, though It would be a welcome edition. THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC
Shrike88 Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 +1, However since its 2022 and we still cannot get any type of modern GUI accessibility settings I doubt it. Still cannot click and drag, Multiselect or countless other less than advanced features. 1
Night Owl Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 This would be nice indeed. For me it would be historical airraid sirens when ww2 bomber raids show up 2
Kappa-131st Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Something like trigger.action.outSoundAtPoint(string soundfile, vec3 point, int volume ) where the sound is playing at the position of the vec3 point. The volume determinate the radius. 3

Walshtimothy Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Above files are saved and compressed to .ogg format and are pretty small mostly. Hopefully be of use to people when this finally gets implemented. walshtimothyWW2 virtual flier - currently playing on 4ya ww2 - youtube channel here https://www.ww2adinfinitum.blog - https://projectoverlord.co.uk/
