dutchili Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 I tried to replicate storm Eunice :), but ran into something unexpected. 10 m/s crosswind from the left at takeoff. On the runway the jet was turning left, where I was expecting it to drift right. is this normal?
dutchili Posted February 20, 2022 Author Posted February 20, 2022 it's not that i suspect a bug, more a question if the F16 turns into the wind at takeoff

The wind on the stab will push the tail to the right and, because the main gear is in front of the stab, the nose will rotate to the left into the wind. Use constant right rudder and maybe some left aileron to keep wings level. PS Storm Eunice was more then 10 m/s Edited February 20, 2022 by yoyo_332nd 2 Alpha Tauri - 322nd Dutch Virtual Air Defense Squadron

A crosswind from the left will tend to do 3 things to airplanes on runways, in order of increasing wind strength: Yaw to the left (upwind) Roll to the right (downwind) Drift to the right (downwind) Edited February 22, 2022 by jaylw314 1
