MARLAN_ Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 (edited) Really happy to hear the first bug with the Lost Cue was fixed this patch! Awesome that it uses missile parameters now instead of the aircraft. One more small issue to fix: The LOST cue is triggering when the target is still in range. The track and Tacview clips show the missile with plenty of energy both when the LOST cue is displayed and at intercept. Thanks for the work on improving the F-18 systems! Missile at intercept still has plenty of energy and is certainly not kinematically defeated: LOST Cue is indicated here (Time +02:12): Tacview-20220320-004811-DCS.zip.acmi LostCue2-7-11.trk Edited March 20, 2022 by MARLAN_ 2 Virtual CVW-8 - The mission of Virtual Carrier Air Wing EIGHT is to provide its members with an organization committed to presenting an authentic representation of U.S. Navy Carrier Air Wing operations in training and combat environments based on the real world experience of its real fighter pilots, air intercept controllers, airbosses, and many others.

I assume the LOST cue shows if the missile is below a certain energy level? Would you be able to share what that level is so we can better understand this indication? 1 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2

Would you be able to share what that level is so we can better understand this indication? It would be definitely beneficial to understand ED's definition of the LOST cue so we can react properly to the DCS implementation. What is the meaning of the LOST cue in DCS and what information is being passed by it? What sort of action should we take in response to this cue (should we stop supporting a missile in flight when we receive a LOST cue regardless of the missile's ability to intercept)? 1 Virtual CVW-8 - The mission of Virtual Carrier Air Wing EIGHT is to provide its members with an organization committed to presenting an authentic representation of U.S. Navy Carrier Air Wing operations in training and combat environments based on the real world experience of its real fighter pilots, air intercept controllers, airbosses, and many others.
MARLAN_ Posted April 11, 2022 Author Posted April 11, 2022 @BIGNEWYor @NineLineany possibility that ED would be able to share with the community what the implementation of the LOST Cue in DCS is? It's not described in the current version of the DCS FA-18C Early Access Guide and it seems there is a disconnect between information online so the clarification would really help the community understand how to interpret this cue in the DCS environment. Frederf Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 LOSE cue (not lost) is indication by MMC that missile will not impact target due to battery, kinematics, or missile seeker angle. A missile in a LOSE state is projected not to impact if things keep going the way they're going. The situation can change to turn a lose into a win.

I'm asking for what specifically DCS implementation is, not the real world one, because currently LOST (and it is called LOST as far as the multiple SME's and documents I've seen call it, I'm curious what source you have that calls it "LOSE") in DCS is being displayed even when the missile still does retain enough kinematic energy, and battery life to intercept so therefore DCS must be implementing the LOST cue in a different way, since this is marked "correct as is". MARLAN_ Posted April 19, 2022 Author Posted April 19, 2022 Any news from ED on what the implementation of the LOST cue in DCS is? What is it supposed to do in DCS? 3 Virtual CVW-8 - The mission of Virtual Carrier Air Wing EIGHT is to provide its members with an organization committed to presenting an authentic representation of U.S. Navy Carrier Air Wing operations in training and combat environments based on the real world experience of its real fighter pilots, air intercept controllers, airbosses, and many others.
