Ghostlydoggo Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 Was doing some CAS type operations took some fire so I headed back to repair, rearm and refuel. Got done with that process and went to start up the engines got them both running but when I went to spool them fully up the throttles wouldn't move. I checked my key bindings and it showed the axis was active. I even rebound it and still nothing.

IzeHouze Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Big shot in the dark, but I did this yesterday. When you shut down the engines to get the repairs, did you use the Rotor Brake switch? I did. And I found that the PCLs would not move from idle after the repair, UNTIL I turned OFF the Rotor Brake switch. Not sure if that should be the case, but double check the Rotor Brake next time. (actually just thinking about this, in the Gazelle, the Rotor brake physically blocks the PCL preventing you from moving it up to fly) 1

(actually just thinking about this, in the Gazelle, the Rotor brake physically blocks the PCL preventing you from moving it up to fly) Just confirmed this. With rotor brake on you cannot move the PLCs forward from 0% using an axis. However they WILL move when using the keybind ("+" on numpad.) If you tap the keybind then you can advance them with the axis again. It appears that the axis is locked if PCLs are at 0% with rotor brake on. It does make sense that this would be the correct behaviour, but that also suggests that the keybind shouldn't work, so one or the other seems to be wrong.
Hammer1-1 Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 (edited) I encountered this issue today as well. After repair, throttle would not engage unless I hit the PageUp key and then I was free to push the throttle to full...but bringing it back to idle forced me to repeatedly hit the PageUp key. I did have the rotor brake toggled as well. I would think the rotor brake would be a spring loaded toggle switch that disengages when power is removed from the circuit. I'm not so sure. Remember that eventually the rotor brake will also have a "lock" position to stop them windmilling when parked up, so it wouldn't be very helpful if it disengaged as soon as power is lost. I'm sure it will all be sorted out accurately eventually. 1 hour ago, Hammer1-1 said: I did have the rotor brake toggled as well. Do you mean toggled on or off? I've only ever had this happen with it on, so I just make sure it's off as part of my flow.
Hammer1-1 Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 (edited) I had the switch in the middle position. I believe its designed to be held in place by user alone in the down position. AFAIK, the rotors should be tied down when on the ramp. Ive never worked military aircraft before, much less helicopters so I dont know exactly what the procedures are at that point. Most helicopters Ive seen or been around are tied down in multiple areas, including all the individual blades. https://ch-47helicopters.tpub.com/TM-1-1500-250-23/css/TM-1-1500-250-23_21.htm Edited April 7, 2022 by Hammer1-1 Intel 13900k @ 5.8ghz | 64gb GSkill Trident Z | MSI z790 Meg ACE | Zotac RTX4090 | Asus 1000w psu | Slaw RX Viper 2 pedals | VPForce Rhino/VKB MCE Ultimate + STECS Mk2 MAX / Virpil MongoosT50+ MongoosT50CM | Virpil TCS+/ AH64D grip/custom AH64D TEDAC | Samsung Odyssey G9 + Odyssey Ark | Next Level Racing Flight Seat Pro | WinWing F-18 MIPS | No more VR for this pilot.
