Mouse_99 Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 I wanted to set up a simple mission in Syria to learn how to fly the Apache and when I did and started it up I couldn't figure out how to get the map to appear. I looked at the quick start guide and it didn't reference anything about the map and i noticed there was no map in some of the images. It doesn't seem right if you can't have a map how are you going to put your waypoints ad targets etc.

LooseSeal Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 I'm fairly sure the Syria map has issues with charts appearing below a certain zoom level. Zoom out a bit and see if it appears. Also, seems obvious but are you waiting long enough for the map to appear? It won't appear until the system is aligned, or thereabouts. - i7-7700k - 32GB DDR4 2400Mhz - GTX 1080 8GB - Installed on SSD - TM Warthog DCS Modules - A-10C; M-2000C; AV8B; F/A-18C; Ka-50; FC-3; UH-1H; F-5E; Mi-8; F-14; Persian Gulf; NTTR
CaptHawk Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 Don't have to zoom out, choose a map scale like mentioned above, left side after choosing "map". Otherwise, with the scale set as default, you'll have to zoom to 50 to see the map on the Syria map. Solution Frederf Posted March 30, 2022 Solution Posted March 30, 2022 Chart scales have an associated chart imagery layer slot associated with that scale. Some of the slots have chart imagery loaded and some do not. You can adjust the map range to chart scale association to use a chart scale with imagery. To change the displayed scale for a certain map range: TSD displayed MAP (B4) select Range (R1, R2) set desired range scale TYPE CHART (L2) verify SCALE (L3) select Option (L3-L6, R3-R6) select desired scale MAP (B4) deselect Whenever the map range is changed the associations will revert to the default. Caucuses has the following scale imagery: 1:5,000,000 1:2,000,000 1:1,000,000 1:500,000 1:250,000 Syria has the following scale imagery: 1:1,000,000 1:500,000 The scale menu realistically won't show or choose chart layers with CADRG graphics that it doesn't have loaded so the blank layer issue won't happen in reality. I also think that the scale association is memorized when changing range settings but I'm not sure on that. 1
Mouse_99 Posted March 30, 2022 Author Posted March 30, 2022 Thanks for all the tips. I will go back and try again! There wasn't anything specific about doing anything, the map just showed up (in the tutorials, lol) I did wait for total alignment while I was searching for this and that. I'll check the zoom in and scale.
Mouse_99 Posted March 30, 2022 Author Posted March 30, 2022 Thank you , the map popped up immediately after I hit the chart type and scale!
