With that said, went into an AH64 mission today - pilots position - and MPDs working as advertised - then swapped forward - also working and displays swapping dependent on what is selected at each position.

Yup, this was just fixed with the Open Beta patch yesterday!

I'm working on figuring out exactly how the screens work with the new update, make changes to my patch files, and then update this guide.

First post updated with new info following Open Beta Update 2.7.16.28111 in 07/28/2022.

We can have MFDs that switch what they show depending on what seat you're in now! But not everything is perfect yet.

In what way? Ah - just read the updates.

Out of curiosity is it possible to display both Pilots and CPG displays onto 2 individual screens, then with corresponding MPD displays onto separate mini screens? Thinking the dual Pilot/CPG MPD displays is the 'easy' bit, but is there anyway to display the CPG view onto a second screen whilst simultaneously displaying the pilots view on the main controllable screen?

Failing that will  put the tedac onto the second large monitor. Basically got 2 x 27" plus 2 x 11" with 4 x cougars so trying to figure out how best to utilise the space/screens!

I'm having a bear of a time getting the MFD exports to work. I have 3 monitors stitched into one as my primary display, with a fourth touchscreen below the center. I've attached the .lua file that has only the  pilot MFDs (special thanks to 16th Widowmakr, from whom I shamelessly copied). Does anyone have a similar setup or is someone able to help me finish this so I can add the CPG and get this done correctly?

FWIW, I have a 1920 x 1080 touchscreen. I have tried updating my Apache .lua to include all the defined viewports, but I'm not having any success. Updated file included.

Anyone have a 1920 x 1080 touchscreen .lua they'd like to throw at me? Be my guest!

You're defining the viewports for AH64_PLT_LEFT_MFCD and AH64_PLT_RIGHT_MFCD, have you modified the MFCD files to export to those names? If not, then you should be using LEFT_MFCD and RIGHT_MFCD now, those are the default, and since the last update they work great.

Thank you. Fixed that. Still not exporting, however. The Apache configuration doesn't show up in the Monitors list in Options.

i have all in: C:\SIMU\DCS World OpenBeta\Config\MonitorSetup

not in saved !!! ?

I think either should work, but the DCS World folder is intended for game files, it's where ED's default config files live. You can place your own there and I think it'll work, but they may be moved whenever you do a cleanup of your DCs folder. Placing them in Saved Games is safer.

Here's where I have it. DCS does not show it as an option in monitor setup.

Any idea why a profile would not show up if it's in this folder? I tried to see if there's something in the file that would render it unrecognizable, but I can't see anything. It shows the Helios profile but will not show the Apache profile that is in the same folder.

I'm not sure. I also scrolled through your file and didn't see anything that should cause an issue. DCS identifies profiles by the "name = " field inside the file, not file name. Do you maybe have a name conflict with another monitor config file on your system?

I looked and looked and could not find a duplicate. I edited the "name = " field to something else anyway and it still does not show in the drop-down.

OK. I've experimented further, but no progress.

I tried copying everything in my Apache profile, then pasting into the Helios profile, which I know works. That did not do the trick.

I'm sure the solution is something simple and I'll feel dumb when I finally get it, but I'm truly at a loss right now.

I've uploaded two .lua files: One is my standard Helios monitor profile, which works and DCS shows as an available monitor profile in the setup menu.

The other is the DCS Apache file I've edited. Both are saved in the Saved Games area under the DCS Open Beta config monitor setup folder.

DCS Apache.lua Helios.lua

@Derbroomaster I would go back and check the syntax of your DCS Apache.lua file compared to others people have posted.  I'm seeing a semicolon after the description line that may be tripping something up.

Start by taking the Helios.lua file that works, and simply change its name.  Test.  Then change another line. Test. Etc.

Thank you for your response. Just spent an hour doing as you suggested.

Unfortunately, nothing has changed. I cleaned up the spacing and semicolons. I renamed other files that work and they show up as choices in the drop-down box in DCS. No matter what I do, mine doesn't show up. This is maddening. I can understand playing around with x and y positions, but not showing up in the list when it's no different than the ones that work makes no sense at all to me.

The tables with the values are separated with a semicolon ( ; ) not a comma ( , ) and you need to add a semicolon to the last line in each table, as well.

Like this:

LEFT_MFCD =

{

     x = 75;

     y = 1519;

     width = 500;

     height = 500;

}

I've attached two files. Both are located in the DCS.openbeta\config\MonitorSetup folder in the Saved Games directory. The Widowmkr Apache File shows as an eligible monitor profile in DCS. The other ("altered") file does not. The "altered" file was made re-typing all the lines AFTER line 1. Any and all feedback is welcome, please.
