mapped the collective sight select hat to a joystick, functions not working in game

so i use a joystick hat to map the functions of the collective sight select switch.

i can see it working in the controls adjust menu.

how ever it doesnt seem to do anything in game...

on the TEDAC, using the right grip sight select switch will allow me to change functions, but nothing happens when using the sight select switch of the collective..

a) did you change the keybind in the CPG tab or in the Pilot tab? if you are sitting in the CPG seat, make sure to change keybinds under AH64 -> CPG

b) did you try "take over controls" from the Pilot seat by pressing C ? Maybe CPG collective is only "active" when you have controls.

edit: and if you are in the Pilot seat you cant SightSelect at the moment (no function). Will play a role as soon as we get the FCR afaik.

Sry cant be more of a help atm cause i cant check ingame. later maybe.

i set the keybind to my joystick for both CPG and Pilot. they map and respond properly in the button assignement menu. but in either positions it doesnt do anything in game..

i will give the CPG "take control" a try when i get home

From the Manual for the Pilot seat

HMD (Forward). The IHADSS is selected as the active sight. IHADSS line of sight (LOS) is used for weapons targeting.
FCR (Left). The FCR is selected as the active sight. FCR Next-to-Shoot (NTS) is used for weapons targeting.
TADS (Right). No function for pilot’s collective.
LINK (Aft). Slaves TADS LOS to FCR Next-To-Shoot (NTS). If the CPG’s active sight is TADS and the pilot commands LINK, the CPG’s active sight will become HMD.

Since FCR is not in, and TADS (right) has no function, only HMD will work at this time...so no switching needed/working at the moment in the Pilot seat.

For the CP/G:

please try the "C" for taking control of the Apache from the pilot (George) and also un-stowing the cyclic. After that please try to use the collective SightSelectSwitch.

If this is not working it really might be a bug, maybe some SME can give more insight on how this works in real-life Apache.

If you want to work around, just use the TEDAC RHG (right hand grip) SichtSelect commands and bind them to your liking.

There are three sight select switches in the AH-64:

  • Pilot collective
  • Gunner collective
  • TEDAC

All three work for me except only the up position works on the pilot collective because right (TADS) has no function in reality (pilot can't TADS), FCR is not implemented at all yet, and LINK does nothing because there's no FCR to link to or from. It is not required to take control of the flight axes to use these buttons. Only cyclic X, Y, collective, power levers, and rudder are one-at-a-time permission based. Brakes, search light, buttons, axes for your cockpit (volumes, brightness) are always enabled.

Here's a track  pressing SS right then SS up in order for pilot collective, copilot collective, and TEDAC.AH64 right then up SS pilot copilot tedac.trk
