Hey All,

I am trying the trick with a dedicated server but when I go into the Server list to join I see 2 of my servers listed but I only have 1  running? I am trying to figure out if this is normal or do I have 2 servers running somehow? and if I have 2 servers running I only want 1 to run as it is confusing seeing 2 servers..

I also would like to know If I am going to host a server in Multiplay could I use this trick to run the dedicated server and join the game on the same PC or do I need to have a seperate PC to run the server on?

here are a couple of screenshots:

Yes, I believe this is normal in the sense that your client sees your server in two different locations: in your local network and on the Internet.

You can join your dedi server using the same PC. It works very well. This is what I do to be sure to connect through my local network: I use 'Connect by IP' (127.0.0.1:10308).

OK I just wanted to make sure I was not running the server twice.

EDIT: I looked and one is the 127.0.0.1 IP and the other is my my 192.168.x.x?? Is this server running twice as neither seems to be an internet side?

I will try the dedicated server thing in tonights multiplayer match.

127.0.0.1 IP is loopback address which cannot be routed. ip 192.168.x.x is what is true server since this can be routed. on same computer, either will work.

interesting. did you restart your computer since the time it had two addresses? i have seen where installing an application will sometimes see the host machine loopback. but a restart fixes the issue.
