pabletesoy Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 (edited) Cabin Pressurization, Defog, cockpit air temperature affecting the pilot...why are these kinds of things not modeled inside DCS ( I know that there ares exceptions such DEKA)? Other FX that are integrated, such as the rain drops, are not bad but they have strange behaviors and are far from DCS standar quality, they need more love. These kinds of things are very immersive and enhance the gaming experience, people really appreciate them. Hopefully we can see them in DCS! Thanks! Edited May 29, 2022 by pabletesoy 5

GeekyBoi Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Agreed, DCS is really slipping behind more modern flight sim releases in this area. Might as well replace the ECS systems on all the aircraft with a "whoosh" button. 1
Exorcet Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 It would be nice to see things incorporated into more modules. Maybe leave some as options just because they might be clunky to simulate. For example, cockpit temp influencing the pilot leaves me kind of uneasy if I can't actually feel it. Canopy defog I feel can be dealt with pretty realistically though. 1 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files

We also don't "feel" the G but some effects can be simulated. Prolonged heat exposure can cause muscle cramps and heat stroke - a loss of consciousness. Cold can cause shivering, nausea and dizziness, slowness of movement, freezing - a loss of consciousness. 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria

We do have visual and audio feedback though, both from instruments and screen/sound effects. G would be a lot more difficult to handle if it was a sudden blackout with no warning. The problem is similar to the lack of a detent on some throttles or the lack of haptic feedback in VR. They aren't impossible to work around, but they're not totally realistic and can make things overly difficult compared to reality. We could add some kind of effect to indicate pilot comfort though. Shivering, heavy breathing, etc. It just needs to be done well and not easily confused with something else like hypoxia symptoms. 1 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
