[NO BUG] Red Radio not available even with TAF not fitted

Red Radio not available even with TAF not fitted. As you see in the shot, it is on Marche but no radio. TAF definitely not equipped.

Happens in all missions for me now.

Looks like your UHF radio is ON and tuned to Channel 1, have you actually tried to use it, using the "UHF RED Radio Menu" button ?
(IIRC "UHF RED Radio PTT" is for Simple Radio use)

The UHF frequency repeater is not compatible with the "red" UHF radio so displays "********" on it's top line.

From the DCS M-2000C Flight Manual, Section 10-5 V/UHF Repeater, page 125

The latest version 2.2.0 (23/06/2022) is included with DCS and found in

• DCS World\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Doc\DCS M-2000C Flight Manual EN.pdf

Tested with DCS Open Beta 2.7.15.26783 at Kobuleti with an E3 AWACS on UHF 251 MHz giving "Bogie Dope" calls and similar.

• UHF radio channel 1 = 251 MHz (switching to channel 2 broke communication), used UHF 251 MHz for "Bogie Dope" calls
• Then switched to TAF on UHF (nearby Hawk system) and Manually tuned V/UHF to 251 MHz (had been on VHF 133 MHz Kobuleti ATC)
• After shooting down a couple of C-101 drones, I RTB and switched from UHF F1 (TAF) to UHF Channel 1 to check with AWAC if the AI was continuing pursuit.
• V/UHF was again set VHF 133 MHz Kobuleti ATC

That frequency repeater is not wired to the RED radio IRL,thus it will always display ********. It used to display the RED radio frequency but it was a mistake and have been fixed now.(There is a special option for it in the settings if you want it works in the old way)

And you can always use the red radio even with TAF installed,just make sure you turn the main power knob to M(for radio communication) instead of F1(for TAF datalink)

Hi,

As said above, the frequency repeater top row can only display asterisks as the red radio is not compatible with it. Your radio is most likely working.

Moving this to resolved.
