DmitriKozlowsky Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 GeorgeAI_CPG fails to fire Hellfire after announcing ENGAGING This makes absolutely no sense to me. In range, TADS is on target, ARM, lasing, good range. Helicopter is in stable hover more or less. GeorgeAI announces "Engaging" or "Firing" then does not do it. Of the few times George does fire in LOAL with High trajectory. The Hellfire flies up high and to nowhere. If the TRK file shows crashes, then TRK files cannot be trusted, and are of limited value as to troubleshooting. MIssion is Instant Action/Syria/Firing Range AH64D_CPG_fail_to fire_Hellfire.trk
Floyd1212 Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 In situations like this, it would also be helpful to capture a screenshot of what George is seeing in one MPD, and the WPN page on the other MPD. Then even if the .trk file is unreliable, there is still something we can all be looking at to help troubleshoot.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted July 7, 2022 ED Team Posted July 7, 2022 Hi, try not to spam the AI interface it can throw George sometimes. It looks like you are very low and the targets you are trying to engage are not in LOS. Try a LOBL engagement first and go for the closest targets it should help. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Kharrn Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 (edited) watched the two posted tracks (this and the "rockets thread") and majoritiy of the time your LOS is off; the Apache is not "stable" (by George's standards for in-constraints without using 2nd detent); or your have a pylon limit. Pick target -> get LOS and in constraints -> tell George to engage via consent to fire (if you have trouble with key-/button-presses while maintaining a stable firing platform, i suggest using VoiceAttack or similar software) -> dont spam George with consent to fire oh and get your VID page to TADS and TADS symbology (upper right) so that you see the CP/G symbology (like pylon limit, range to laser, etc) Edited July 7, 2022 by Kharrn 1

LOS does not have to have helicopter elevation above the target. I can see the target in TADS IR. This thread has failed top answer my basic question. Why is George announcing "Engaging" or "Firing", then does not do it.

Why is George announcing "Engaging" or "Firing", then does not do it. as told to you several times already: George is really WiP (work in progress) and therefor functions are not all working as intended (that is my take on it). My guess is that George is answering "engaging" when you "consent to fire", but the check if the helicopter is in-constraints for a shot is done afterwards. -> early access/ beta / WiP (pick one) Though firing and hitting with Hellfires (LOBL and LOAL), rockets (in coop) and gun is working for me most of the time. vor 2 Stunden schrieb DmitriKozlowsky: LOS does not have to have helicopter elevation above the target. I can see the target in TADS IR. that is why i wrote "get LOS and (be) in constraints" [for a Hellfire first detent launch]. Elevation below lased target can lead to a Pylon Limit (in articulation) in LOBL afaik. And yes you do see the target but not the weapon symbology which George is "seeing" (in TEDAC/ IHADSS) which will give you all the information you need. So remember in VID page to go for TADS and TADS again (upper right on MPD) when you want to get that info. K
Scaley Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 I'm getting a new bug in the latest build where George appears to select RF Missiles, and LEFT-Long on the interface won't cycle him (the interface shows SAL, but if you export the CPG MPDs they show he is selecting RF). It's not consistent, and only online in dedicated servers. WASing the missile in the back seat a firing works fine. Can't work out how to capture it in a track. 476th vFighter Group Main Page -- YouTube -- Discord Scaley AV YouTube - More videos from the 476th
TZeer Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 @DmitriKozlowsky Had a look at your track file. Some observations. - You are not stable when you are firing. - This again makes it hard for the CPG (George & Human) to keep the laser stable on the target. - You can see this on your TSD and the CPG's LOS/Cursor. It jumps up and down the screen. This tells me that the laser is missing the tank/object and hitting whatever is behind it. From the angle you are firing and shooting the laser, the laser hits the terrain behind the target. When you tell the CPG to target something, he finds the target, but he is always a little off, and uses a few seconds to finetune the aim. You see this in the TADS. The crosshair from the TADS uses a few seconds to align perfectly on top of your target. This is perfectly normal, is it simulates a real person lining up the laser on target. - Many of your missiles are missing due to the simple fact that after the missile is fired, the laser stops lasing the target and hits something behind, due to the mentioned unstable flight/hover. This again throws the seeker in the missile off. Laser comes back to target, but then the missile has already passed the seekers contraint in the missile. And it just flies dumb far above the target and into the sunset. - Last observations. Easy on the George AI. You are slaving, de-slaving nonstop. Put the center crosshair of your IHADSS on the spot you want George to search. One simple command and he should come up with a target list. From what I could see you are not running Track IR or anything, and few of the times you where giving the command, the center crosshair was pointing into a forrest or ground before the mountain. Giving you no targets. Hope this helps.
DmitriKozlowsky Posted July 10, 2022 Author Posted July 10, 2022 OK. Noted all points. However on slaving-deslaving-slaving. If I do not, George won't progress to next target, or takes forever to do so.

I did the same mistake at first. The system slaves to wherever the pilots LOS is. If you move this point before the CPG has been able to complete the slew. It wont look where you gave the command. Since you don't move the head, but use the whole chopper this becomes a problem. As you struggle to keep it steady, this makes George slaving the TADS all over the place. 1
Floyd1212 Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 If you're not using a head tracker, maybe use the mouse to aim your LOS where you want George to look, then after he has had chance to slave to that location, use Numpad_5 to recenter the view?
