J9_Austin Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 In my training missions with the F-86, example "Take off" my Jet sits on the runway. As it begins the engine shuts down and I have no control of the throttle. The Stick moves and pedals work but I can't restart. In the mission, Instant Action: "Intercept" mission starts in the air and again the engines shut down and I lose throttle controls. unable to restart. Even though I can control the plane into the ground. I love this jet, I think I'd like even more if I could fly it. Flappie Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 I have no such issue. It sounds like two of your axis are conflicting. Please ensure the "Thrust" command is only assigned to one of your axis. On holiday
Art-J Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Nah, if it was an axis mapping issue, the engine rpm would go to minimum, but the engine could not stop, because in the -86 there is an engine-off detent on the throttle lever, which is to be bound to separate key/button. Plus another one which engages fuel pumps If I recall correctly. I don't remember how it's called in controls menu, but clearly that's the source of the problem, otherwise @J9_Austin would see the lever moving. Austin, double check all throttle lever related bindings, one of the switches on your warthog throttle must be resetting the virtual lever to engine-off position. 1 i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
MAXsenna Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Also @J9_Austin, check if you have "sync with HOTAS at mission start" in general settings. If you have it selected, deselect it, and check if problem goes away. If it does @Art-79 is correct about a conflict with your switches. Cheers!
J9_Austin Posted July 31, 2022 Author Posted July 31, 2022 Success! Thanks Art, it was on my throttle control. The 2 engine controls L,R were mapped and "OFF" I just cleared them and it worked. Max, I cannot for the life in me find "Sync with HOTAS at mission start, while my issue with throttle is fixed, I've taken it personally and now must know where I can find it. I've looked in "F-86 General Settings\General" , General\ General . It's possible my public school education might be playing a role here A big S!~ to you guys for the help. Austin
MAXsenna Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Hi @J9_Austin Sync with HOTAS is under general DCS settings, and is a global setting. Not a module specific one. Click the cog wheel on the main screen. Happy you solved your issue! Cheers!
