I am on the Steam edition Open Beta.  It just did an update and I seemed to have lost the included engine sound on the F1 only.  Reverts back to the default turbine sound.  I'm not aware of any other issues at the time.  I have run the file integrity check that didn't work. Uninstalled it to no avail either.  I must be missing something... Forgive my ignorance

I don't see many error messages, apart from those when you're flying:

Try to disable your ECHO mod, and try a "slow" DCS repair if that's not enough.

Hi,

dcs.log

since the latest update (well, the one before today's hotfix), I noticed a change in sound as well. In cockpit, it is much quieter now, only the AB sound is like before.

From the outside, it has completely changed to another sound... That characteristic F1 AB sound is missing, and I also noticed that the heatblur effect is much bigger than before. It looks like it would have changed the source for the engine sounds to a different model or so...

Attached is my DCS.log. Only sound mod I have is the one from NIN for the Mig 21. I disabled it but I still have the changed sound in the F1.

I am on the standalone Open Beta.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

Cannot seem to get the cmd function to work.  I'm on Windows 10 using Powershell.... Followed the instructions.

Just press Windows key then type "cmd". PowerShell is a different tool.

@Erlkönig I don't see anything wrong in your log file. You can try a "slow" DCS repair as well.

Not endangered at all: DCS repair only messes with the game core files ("/DCS World/" or "/DCS World OpenBeta/ folder).

Did a slow repair and cleanup, nothing has changed. Still have the quiet sound in conckpit, and in external view, there is a most distictive change to the build before: Even at idle there is a huge heatblur and pretty loud sound already. Can anybod confirm this?

I have the exact same problem except my afterburner sound is also gone. It happened right after the last big update. I have already done a full repair, I have no mods, and a clean save game folder.

Oi,

dcs.log 180,33 kB · 3 downloads

Estou no Open Beta autônomo.

Qualquer ajuda é muito apreciada, obrigado.

the same here. I don't use mods.

What's your guys audio settings?

Everything is default for me. It doesn't seem to be an audio issue, more of a game engine setting issue. When rotating the camera between the midway points the noise changes dramatically almost like you are in the air flying at higher speeds. When the engine is idle its really loud too. Something with the  environmental settings seems to be off.

Hi,

I have attached a video of the issue. External view from the beginning is "Idle - Full Throttle AB - Idle".

Sounds completely different to what it was on release build.

Hear like helmet is not checked.

I had the same thing (engine audio much quieter than before, still the same noises, but quieter) after the last update. No mods, absolutley vanilla install. I assumed it was intentional. No mentions in the patch notes, but something definitely changed.
