Chook1977 Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 I understand that the Mirage F1 has just had an update and it worked fine even adjusted the throttle detent, but whether you call it stupidity or just to excited I downloaded the weapons mod that gives you the Super 530D which I have seen on youtube a few times and without backing up the core mods folder for the F1CE Mirage I overwritten the original file. Once I worked out that all this did is completely wreck the plane because it would try to use the SU25T when trying to fix the controls after installing the mod. I then deleted and reinstalled but the problem consists. I did notice even though I uninstalled through the manager all files pertaining to the module still remained so every time I re-installed it from the in game manager it just installed the same problem. So I figured if I just remove the complete core mod folder just for the F1 it would have to fix that problem on a new re-install of that aircraft, well that didn't happen so now I am worse off because it didn't re-install any of that folder. Can someone please help me how do I just do a basic re-install of the aircraft module as if you were installing it all for the very first time?
Chook1977 Posted July 29, 2022 Author Posted July 29, 2022 Thankyou so much both of you as it worked a treat. I didn't know that there was a repair option but either way I have definitely learnt my lesson of always backing up anything before trying something new but will hold off on these user files till the plane develops more as I'm sure new and better things are yet to come. Safe flights... 2
MAXsenna Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Do yourself a favour and get a mod manager so you can easily remove mods if you have problems. OvGME is probably the most popular one. But it's not developed anymore, but it's developer has started a new one called Open Mod Manager. I also highly recommend Skatezilla's excellent updater/launcher utility, to easily update/repair. Cheers
Dscross Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Go to your module manager, (top left corner in the main menu of dcs) Uninstall the module, close dcs, open dcs, back to module manager in dcs, install module. Running a repair won't always fix things in the saved games part if there isn't a conflict with dcs. Uninstall and reinstall via the dcs module manager will get you a clean install of the specific module in question. It also allows you to save some hard drive space and Uninstaller maps or aircraft you might not use much.
