markturner1960 Posted August 5, 2022 Author Posted August 5, 2022 (edited) It was the 2D 23 Hrs 59 message and it listed a lod of modules and campaigns I dont have? Mostly AI ( see screengrab).....I dont run any anti virus or firewall software. A repair ( slow option) did not help..... Flappie Posted August 5, 2022 Posted August 5, 2022 Do you have several acconts? for Steam DCS and one on standalone DCS? If so, are you sure you're using the right account? If that doesn't help, you should open a support ticket. Log in to DCS website, click Support, then click "Create a new ticket". ---
markturner1960 Posted August 6, 2022 Author Posted August 6, 2022 (edited) No, I just use standalone DCS....... Nightmare scenario, I just cleaned and repaired again and now it hangs on start up, after authorisation. However clean up and second repair did appear to resolve the original error... I fear I may be looking at a DCS re install. Can I back up my saved games folder and re use without issues? Is there an ideal process to follow for re installation? I can do without this...... Thanks Edited August 6, 2022 by markturner1960 System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.

Is there an ideal process to follow for re installation? As a safety measure, you can backup your Saved Games/DCS folder, yes, but that is not mandatory. The installer/uninstaller does not mess with it (I believe it doesn't even know about it). Best way to reinstall DCS: 1. Uninstall it by running "unins000.exe" found in the game main folder). 2. Download a fresh installer and run it. ---
markturner1960 Posted August 6, 2022 Author Posted August 6, 2022 Thanks, I already checked the time as per advice. Re install means re downloading ALL modules & theatres does it? Or can I copy those folders over and place them in after the new base install is done? Its days of re downloading for me otherwise....... Flappie Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 (edited) You can indeed move them elsewhere on your drive, then copy them back in the freshly installed DCS (/Mods/ folder). Edited August 6, 2022 by Flappie ---
SMH Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Run a Repair. Happened to me too, files were missing.
