Yeah, I'd believe the spur wheels are to tune the STARM to a specific signal, maybe its only a manual control thing to override the missile's desire to go kill something else

I had someone state that the STARM loved to kill X-brand radars

The impossible thing is to gather the sounds of all the bleep, the creeps and the sweeps 😁

That is going to be the hardest part. A good question here would be if you could guestimate the sounds based on the RPF and SPS. Kowing how DCS does EW I think the F-4G is going to be easier since the computer was smart enough to use a look up table to identify a radar

RARE COLOR FOOTGAE OF THE F-105. Learned a few things about here aerodynamically (SO MUCH MORE INFOR IN THE VIDEO). This is the klind of stuff Modders or DEV's need.

Here's a good reference site. Model builders are just as crazy as we are when it comes to detail:  https://www.cybermodeler.com/aircraft/f-105/f-105_all.shtml

@SOLIDKREATE Have you received any updates on the f-105 module? Previously, you said a developer was interested in creating the jet with the information you provided. I am asking if the developer has released any WIP showing their work.

Wild Weasel Mission, RADIO Comms only 🫡. You can hear the cannon and the pilot grunting from the G-Force.

I'd hope Grinnelli would do the F-105D after the F-100D.  If the F-100D is a hit module, doing the F-105 after that would seem logical...if they'd choose to do any more.  They should be able to get photogrammetry from a real F-105D.  But since none are operable, they'd have to just do the best they could with flight model and sounds.  If the most knowledgeable people on the F-105D in existence say it's as realistic as they can determine, who's to say it isn't realistic?  Otherwise, it's probably up to Heatblur and they're probably backlogged with Eurofighter, A-6E and other versions of the F-4...it could be until 2033 before they could get to the F-105.  Maybe Flying Iron or Aerges, but we're still waiting for the A-7E and the F-104.  One of these experienced developers should be able to figure out the systems and 3D model from museum aircraft and manuals.  And guestimate the flight model performance as best can be done.  Hopefully, there will be some pilots around who remember flying the F-105 to evaluate the feel and performance.  There are anecdotal accounts by pilots written in their published books, too.

After really looking at the quality Grinnelli has put into their aircraft through the images & video they post, I have total faith in them. I'm working on getting the other Thunderstick II Supplement. I have a contact at a University so I can buy a scanned copy. I have yet to scan the Nonnuclear Weapons Manual I have. That one will not be uploaded to respect ED's wishes. I will however freely loan it to a third Party Developer.

It's just hard because ther are no flying examples and good luck getting a museukm to let you crawl all over their priceless museum artifact. There was an 'F' model on loan here in WA and  begged to let them let take pics and record cockpit switch sounds. I am thinking of financing a Keyence VL-800 3D scanner and doing scans of a 1:32 scale F-105D & G model from Trupeter and Reskit after market parts they make. The platform is pretty darn big too.

I'll be ordering these too but may not put them in the download since I am paying for them:

  1. F-105D "The Educated Nose of the F-105D, a pilot's discussion of the R14A NASARR Radar Collins Radio company”, 1962
  2. F-105D Thunderstick II Operational Supplement Flight Manual (T.O. 1F-105D-1S-231), 1971  --- The main Supp is in the DL
  3. F-105 Thunderchief Pilot’s Handbook on Communication Identification Navigation Subsystem (AN/ASQ-37), 1962

I know heatblur has said that they would licences Jester I personally say let's try to get a community mod going I don't know the modeling I think if anyone can contact VSN we could use that as an external base.

The only image I can find of 'Ryan's Raiders', F-105F, official name 'Commando Nail'.

unnamed (1).jpg

The undersides are camo patterned and you can see the familiar splotching on the drop tanks. The bellies were not dark grey like some illsutrations have shown.
