Maybe this is on purpose, but I can't use the POV hat with head tracking on.  I just downloaded OpenAI and Open Track and I'm figuring it out/getting used to it, but it's a little weird.  I'm middle aged and I've never used a head tracker before.  I'm getting nauseous, lol.  There are times I would like to just have it off, I think, but even with the hotkey in Open Track to toggle tracking, POV still doesn't work.  It works on external views just fine.  Head tracking doesn't seem to effect that.  I'd like to still have to option of using my POV hat.  Especially poking around in the F-16 cockpit.  It's kinda hard for me to get the headtracking to allow me to look in all the corners or it doesn't stay still enough, etc.  Not really sure why that's a thing.  The free look with alt-C doesn't work either.

TL;DR version:  Trying to click on stuff with head tracking can be hard, but having any head tracking software disables my POV switch, even when toggled off.

I have not tried this. But you might be successful in defining a SnapView looking forward, and bind it to a button/POV, so you can switch between that and padlock.

Once you get used to headtracking you won't go back. It takes some time to tune the curves in OpenTrack though. But when you're done, it will feel very natural. I can't play FPS anymore, that makes me nauseous! 😄

EDIT: Just remembered, if you bind a button (while held) to stop tracking in OpenTrack, it will recenter forward. Not sure how this works when padlocking though. And you might be off, when releasing. Need to try that.

I can tell you this isn't something that happens with TrackIR, because I use POV and mouse look while it's paused with no problem.

You should check your head tracking settings. Perhaps there is some other way to "pause" it than the one you're currently using? This would make sense if your tracking software continues to command the same locked view, which is overriding the POV or mouse look.

Interesting and thank you.  It is listed as TrackIR input in-game, but maybe there IS a setting in Open Track for how it outputs.  Right now, there is absolutely no response whatsoever from the POV hat unless I'm in an external view.
You're saying you still have POV slew with TrackIR in F1 view?

That's interesting. I just assumed that DCS just disabled the feature, as it becomes sort of redundant. But I agree with OP that sometimes I want them. Maybe a post in Github could solve this.

BTW. OT, went ahead and uninstalled the ClEye drivers, and used the other option described on Github. Works well, not that I notice a difference yet. But my computer is really slow.

Nope. Just responds to whatever was last input. Joysticks work the same (I often have two simultaneous throttle axis).

Yeah, me too. But this was the only thing that stopped working. 😊

It's the same behaviour with the tobii Eyetracker 5 btw. (head movement only with head tracker, not with keys and mouse).

I just got Tobii Eye Tracker and am experiencing this too.  In the past I'd used Track IR and could pause the head movement and use the POV hat.  I never got TrackIR feeling natural and fluid.  So after some years, I tried Tobii Eye Tracker and this feels more fluid.  I had assumed it would be the same...I could pause and use the POV.  Unfortunately it is not.  I'd love to find some workaround to make it work this way.  Without that, I'm unlikely to ever use any head tracker.  Extremes are just too hard to move your head and still look at the screen.
