Speed brake indicator

I've been looking through the manual and chuck's guide but I can't find anything about a speed brake indicator or light. Is there one?

No, there is no indicator. I have often been caught flying with the speedbreak out . You just have to make sure you cycle the speedbreak prior to taxi as part of your pre-taxi checks.

look at the black control on the throttle of the plane. If it is in the up position the brakes are closed, down they are open

That faint roaring noise you hear, sounds a little like your gear are down just not as loud? Yeah, that.

You feel speed brakes deployed more than hear them. A seat shaker works well in replicating this.

4 hours into the module I started using LCtrl+B and LShift+B for fully out / fully in respectively. Now I need to figure out a quick method for checking the afterburner state...

In the real jet you'd feel the position of the switch. I like the speedbrake switch on my Winwing throttle for this reason.

I use the nozzle position indicators

I watch the fuel flow gauge spike really high.
