NightFlier Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 (edited) Hi guys, In the past 2 weeks I've had this issue twice: - Mariana Islands, Multiplayer, same Mission (this mission has been running for at least a month before the issue happened). - During Case 1, flying in formation with wings at 68° at the commencement phase (descending to 800 ft at 350 kts outbound) the airplane started to oscillates abnormally in pitch and got a pilot lock out of 1 second followed by vibrations. - The first time it happend to me and I recovered normal flight conditions after about 3 minutes. - The second time happend to another client while flying in formation with me, he got the same problems but eventually it exploded shortly after. Same phase of flight, same mission. What I don't get is also why we flew the same pattern before and nothing happened (I mean, 5 minutes before). Here is the track file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1judTdqyt0Zlk8K_STBBD34GUe5TB0KbP/view?usp=sharing Edited September 17, 2022 by NightFlier 1 Night Flier _________________________________________________________________________________________ i7 9700K, MSI RTX 2080, 32GB RAM (3200 MHz), SSD m.2 1TB, Monitor 32'' WQHD 2560x1440, Windows 10 Pro

Sounds like your AP might be engaged?
KlarSnow Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 (edited) What mods did you have installed? I had this exact thing happen last night, and a repeat incident a couple of weeks ago. Exactly the same, on Mariana's, wings at 68 deg, multiplayer, wake turbulence was on, but should not have been a factor (jet that this affected in both cases was outside of wake turbulence). The first time it happened the player got flipped upside down but managed to recover, the second time, 1 -2 seconds of pitch and yaw shimmy, then the jet exploded. We had the Melbourne mod and the A-4E mod running on our server at the time. Edited September 17, 2022 by KlarSnow

The only mod in the mission is Military Aircraft Mod but I don't think this is an issue as you experienced the same problem without this mod installed. I need to check the turbulence setting cause I don't remember if it's on or off. 13 ore fa, Callsign JoNay ha scritto: I can't open your track because it requires a mod I don't have. I've RIOd for people who didn't know the engage switch alone did something, and they thought as long as they didn't flick up the ALT augmentation and pinky switch the AP REF light off, they thought AP was disengaged. I've seen guys try to AAR with the AP on because they didn't know that, and were flopping all over the place because of it. Just throwing it out there since I can't open your track and look for myself. I pilot the Tomcat even more than I RIO it, and I haven't noticed anything like what you are describing yet.

I'm sure, no AP engaged in both cases Even if it was on, there's no reason for the aircraft to explode! I mean, it wasn't a hard pull at Mach 1 throwing the wings off, it was a complete total explosion with small oscillations (but abnormal ones). NightFlier Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 Asking on Tomcat's Alley on Discord I found another guy who had the same issue, same Map (Mariana Islands). About the wing configuration, he said he isn't sure it was 68° but definitely swept back a good bit. It will take time because it was happening randomly...so we need to wait for other same condition tests.
