I tried 3 times to take off today and every time something went sideways.

The first time I got the message to taxi to CAT 1 too early. I was on my way there when Olive started taxiing and crashed into my side.

The other two times 2 of the F14s collided back on CAT 3. One F14 was already taking tension on CAT 3 when the other one tried to get past it probably on its way to CAT 1 and turned right into the wing of the first one, leaving this one in a burning heap.

EDIT: Finished the mission now. This time there were no losses among the F14s...only a tanker was lost when Olive detached after AAR and smashed right through it...at least I saw good chutes.

The taxi logic on the supercarrier is a complete mess, and even in the mission set up in a specific way out of 30 tries at least in a few something will go wrong. You can't imagine how much time I spent trying to make all the big strikes with 14+ jets taking off work without a problem.. but the AI always finds a way to mess something up every now and then.

Thanks! I'll have a look at it again, but as I say - it works OK for me so I can't really reproduce this.

I've ran it a few more times and yes, the Tomcats did something weird on the deck, but nobody got hurt. I cannot reproduce this problem but I know there are a lot of issues, especially with the F-14s and the supercarrier when it comes to  taxiing.

I just got to this mission today and got exactly same problems as you did. First try everything went fine but i went off course and got shot down. Next 5 times i got either F14s crashing and blowing up the flight deck or Olive crashing in to me or F14 rear ending me when im lining up to the cat. Last time everyhing went fine except i got killed by a manpad when attacking my target 😄 Better luck tomorrow i guess.

You can always run a shorter version of the missions, starting before you have to go inland. Use F10 radio menu option at the beginning.

Another data point. After I launched, something went very wrong on the boat behind me....

And on attempt 2, I narrowly managed to dodge being hit by olive on taxi, only to have the wonderfully professional deck crew give her a launch go ahead at exactly the same time as me. With predictable results. 🤦‍♂️

Attempt 3, Tomcats crashed and exploded on CAT 3/4.

I guess I'll have to skip to past the AAR, which sucks because I wanted to do the whole experience...

I get these are DCS bugs. But ED better sort out these problems, or guys like BD will stop making campaigns, and/or guys like me will stop paying for them... I've been trying to play through this campaign for 6 months now, but keep getting stalled by bugs...

I was able to get all of the F14s off the deck without fireworks by proceeding to the catapult and launching ASAP. That shouldn't matter, but I was a 0 for 6 when I waited for yellow shirt, and then 2 for 2 when I launched early. YMMV.

The AI Tomcats are causing A LOT of trouble in the campaign. I wish I didn't use them at all... out of my hands unfortunately 😞
