Death-17 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I hate to ask, but my resolution changed. I had to restore my com to an earlier date and now the resolution on the main monitor will not go past 1600x1200. The small monitor is at 1024x768. Can you help? Death-17 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 OK, I do need your help. I want to bring down the resolution on my 42 inch monitor from 1920x1080 to 1680x1050. My 17 inch will stay at 1024x768. Will down grading to windows XP affect BS settings? Should I stick with Vista? speed-of-heat Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 1) there is no downgrade to XP that is supportable, you need to re-install XP. If you move to XP you loose performance enhancements from multicore, stick with Vista, better yet upgrade to Windows 7. 2) in options lua: ["height"] = 1050, ["resolution"] = "2704x1050", ["civTraffic"] = 1, ["width"] = 2704, in Shkval+camera center width = 1680 shkval x = 1680 and set the aspect to 1.6 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat

Panzertard Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 page 16,17 etc - similar setups. Also see the excel spreadsheet - example usage; http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=725479&postcount=166 :) THX for the info. But Is it possible to start with a monitersetup and option.lua starting files for Win7 and patch 1.0.1C because I am a little bit confused with the different configuration on the forum... THX again
Panzertard Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 But Is it possible to start with a monitersetup and option.lua starting files for Win7 .... I'm very confused about that sentence - I really dont understand the question :( Unfortunately I dont have dual monitors, so it's a bit hard for me to actually assist you directly. I was merely trying to guide you into a direction where you're able to help yourself. :) The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning

I was merely trying to guide you into a direction where you're able to help yourself. :) In fact It will be easier for me to start with a monitersetup and option.lua files for a camera and shvalk view for Win7. Even if the screen resolution are not the same. For instant I am a litle bit lost.
speed-of-heat Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 the only difference is that 1.0.1 does not require the phantom monitor for setting the references e.g. it's simplier. Win 7 makes no difference over Vista... hav a look over the last few of my posts... see if you can work it out ... Razorback Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 (edited) Here is my options.lua possible file. Is it ok ? Camera on 1680x1050 and SHVALK on 1024x768 Win7 64bits BS 1.01C Description = 'Cockpit camera on the left + Shkval on the Right monitor' Viewports = { Center = { x = 1024; y = 0; width = 1680; height = 1050; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 1.60000; } } Shkval = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 512; height = 768; } After that I have no idea for the monitorsetup.lua SOS/SOS ;) THX Edited December 7, 2009 by Razorback
speed-of-heat Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 (edited) NO! Do not do that to your options.lua file you will just break it! Only edit using Notepad++ not Notepad, you will only break your lua files, always make a backup copy of your files before editing them! create a file called Camera+ShkvalonLeft.lua in the directory .\Ka-50\Config\MonitorSetup containing this: Description = 'Cockpit camera on the left + Shkval on the Right monitor' Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1680; height = 1050; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 1.60000; } } Shkval = { x = 1680; y = 0; width = 1024; height = 768; } in options.lua amend the following lines: ["resolution"] = "2704x1050", ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "camera+shkvalonleft" ["aspect"] = 1.6 ["width"] = 2704 Edited December 8, 2009 by speed-of-heat 1 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat

MackTheKnight Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) Has anybody ever successfully setup multi-monitors with a vertical monitor config? I've got 2 new Acer 23" Touchscreens I'm working on setting up. I've got the main screen on the bottom and the secondary on the top. They're both 1920 X 1080 native resolution. My desk space is limited so side by side isn't an option. Looking to have the main camera on the lower screen and abris/skval on top with TouchPal. I've searched the WIKI page, but all the examples are for horizontal configs, IE monitors placed side by side, not one on top of the other. Any idea's are welcome... Or is this even possible? Thanks, Mack Edited December 28, 2009 by MackTheKnight added pic
speed-of-heat Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 the physical position of your monitors makes very little difference at all for displaying secondary screens (Shkval/ABRIS) and only minor differences for expanded cockpit view. both have been done successfully on this thread SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
CyBerkut Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 I would have to agree with Stuart on that. For what you are describing, the physical orientation of one monitor to the other shouldn't matter. (You might run into some weird looking menu layout screens before you get into the missions.) You're not talking about stretching the camera view to the second monitor, so it wouldn't matter if you placed the second screen above, below, or to either side. Of course, moving the mouse cursor from one screen to the other may be (ahem) non-intuitive. ;) Since you have touch screens, that could be less of a concern for you. :) Check out the TouchPal related threads, and you should be able to find the guidance you need.
