Archi Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 (edited) Question is in the title, where on the HUD can I see/visualize where my wingtip FOX 2s are looking? Do they randomly move around and seek a large area (like on the M2K where the magics have a vertical scan by default) or are they caged to a fix point? Do they automatically uncage when acquiring a heat source? Is there a way to recage them/cancel the lock? I assume the HUD isn't in it's final form yet so is what we have today permanent or will we get a visualization of the FOX 2 seeker head in the future? Picture linked is real footage taken over Lybia. Spoiler Edited October 28, 2022 by Archi 3

Esp magic I. All missiles exept 9B uncages the moment they lock on. 9B is next to impossible to use due to no indication where exactly it is and you have only super small FOV where you have to keep enemy until missile is fired. Iirc, there is no symbology for any missile. In the future atleast JULI, 530Ir and maybe, not sure, magic I will get radar slaving. The first 2 for 100%,magic I is highly unlikely. Iron Sights Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 I use the piper and then use lead to help with the solution. Depends on the missile and the aspect. There is no radar queuing for the fox 2’s that I have seen. Growling tune is the only queue I know of now. Maybe later.
IvanK Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 (edited) To me its as shown below for the IR missiles anyway Edited November 9, 2022 by IvanK 1
gnomechild Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 Yep. All the missiles are boresighted to 0 FRL. Aka, top of the glass

In terms of radar slaving while the Juli in theory is slavable since it has 9L DNA and therefore SEAM in theory. The problem is all that has to be integrated plane side, and IDK if it was. I haven't seen anything to suggest the 550 had this capability. In fact the French military brochures make a big deal out of the magic2 having this capability so it's pretty likely the magic1 didnt have it. Which tbh makes sense it's a short range dogfight missile. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog.
