TheTrooper Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Just been testing things out in 2.8. There's a feature I was really hoping would come out. It would be really good if you could get the AI aircraft to dogfight you but not actually fire. AT the moment if you select ROE return frie or weapon hole they just seem careless. If there was an ioption where they would fight you without shooting opens up more possibilities for air intercept sabre ratling. You could put a probability on it where after a certain amount of time they might either suddenly engage you (Task Push) or bug out (switch waypoint/Task Push). 4 ----------------------------------------------- Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-6700 (3.4GHz) 8MB Cache | 32GB HyperX FURY DDR4 2133MHz | MSI GeForce RTX 2070 ARMOR 8G |SSD 1TB 970 EVO Plus M.2
upyr1 Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 This would be awesome I guess a hold fire until roe would be good. 1
Hairdo1-1 Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 +1. I wanted to create a mission where you have to dogfight to get a bandit to “bug out” ala top gun 1 but not possible at the moment 2
Mars Exulte Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 (edited) I believe I used to do this before by simply setting the AI to hold fire, unless that's changed. They would maneuver and evade, and even try to ''attack'' but not fire. Of course, eventually they run out of fuel and eject unless they get far enough away to disengage then they flew to the nerest base and landed. I used to do this with Predator drones, specifically, and I think F-5s. Edited October 31, 2022 by Mars Exulte 1 Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
BomberEW Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 I think this would be more of a useful tool for red flag style scenarios where it isn't realistic for aircraft to end up as smoldering craters. Maybe something like the AI calling the kill over the radio in a simulated fashion to provide training opportunities. Of similar note, it would be great to have a dry contact option for tankers to enable training with a full or near full fuel load just to practice AAR. 1

I think the red flag option could be triggred with a load out Edited November 1, 2022 by upyr1 1

Dog fight a bandit where it's "Do not fire until fireed upon". After a random time the bandit could bug out, or set a probabability using other methods for the bandit to fire. At which case the ROE for the player would change. ----------------------------------------------- Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-6700 (3.4GHz) 8MB Cache | 32GB HyperX FURY DDR4 2133MHz | MSI GeForce RTX 2070 ARMOR 8G |SSD 1TB 970 EVO Plus M.2
