Multiple profiles on one machine

I have two accounts  one account I use for my main gaming machine and sim-pit and another I use with my laptop that also serves as a second gaming machine (12-900, rtx3080)

I own most of the modules with my main account as I fly many of them in my sim-pit,  and when I use the mission editor it is usually on my laptop

on the second account I only have a few modules for guest to fly with my (uh-1, syria)

however when I switch accounts the system deleted all of the modules I don't own and then when I log back into my main I have to re-download them this is extremely frustrating...

any help would be greatly appreciated.

That used to work. DCS would complain about unlicensed modules, but not force uninstall them. Even after free trial it just complains. Are you sure this is what happened?
I do believe you'll get the same notifications about unlicensed modules, even if you use different Windows account on the same computer, because the modules are installed in the same place, unless you go with multiple installations, and different shortcuts.

ok... so it does look like the files stay... I must not have loaded as many as I thought... sorry for the confusion...

I do wish there was a pulldown to select what profile i wanted to use though.   that would be awesome

You could use the -w switch, it works like this:

"The -w switch in the DCS launch line, usage example:

"E: \ Eagle Dynamics \ DCS World \ bin \ DCS.exe" -w "DCS 2"

in this case, the DCS settings directory will be located at:

C \ Users \% USERNAME% \ Saved Games \ DCS 2

The -w switch only works with the DCS.exe executable file (the dcs_updater.exe updater executable does not know about it).

Thus, you can make several DCS World shortcuts with different options, different mods ('Saved Games \% USERNAME% \ DCS \ Mods \ tech \ MySuperMod'), forced activation of the VR helmet (additional key --force_enable_VR), different inputs and so forth."

To create the /Saved Games/DCS 2/ folder, just make a copy of your current /Saved Games/DCS/ folder, with the new name, this will ensure that your control bindings are preserved.
