This problem almost certainly relates to me trying to setup Tobii Eye Tracker last night.  I stopped short of fully setting it up while I trouble shoot the mounting solution.  However, the software was installed (Tobii Game Hub and Tobii Experience)

Prior to this (and continuing at present), I have used a HAT switch on my joystick to pan the view, with a joystick button to center the view.

Now when I enter the cockpit, I am unable to pan.  There's a slight twitch in the direction I press, but the camera immediately locks/recenters.  I have tried, and reviewed the following:

1. I have disabled Tobii Eye Tracker for DCS (in the Tobii Game Hub)

2. I have quite both Tobii Game Hub and Tobii Experience

3. I have ensured the HAT switch and center view remained mapped to the view pain

4. I have made sure the joystick button mapped to "center view" is not stuck.

5. Tried Alt+C and RCtrl+Num0 based on a couple threads I found, but without any luck.

Can anyone help me "unstick" the view so I can pan with the HAT switch as I normally have in the past?

Even once I get Tobii Eye Tracker setup, I'd like to be able to pause the eye tracking and pan the view.  While I've found head trackers to not be ideal for large angles, such as switches in the back corner of cockpits.

Afair whenever DCS detects trackir.dll running it assigns axis for the head tracking device so the normal button binds will fight with it or stop working - this is the effect you see. Watch for any headtracking app (probably in Windows startup) that is left running and uninstall it.

Did you find any solution ?

I'd start with stopping Tobii app or uninstalling it.

the only way to get POV controls back while Tobii is connected and/or running, is to disable the tobii eye tracker in the DCS controls (shown below)

this way you can keep the tobii applications running in background and don't need to unplug the device

That's it !

Not the best but the only solution.

Thanks !

Hi!

Any update on this?

@ED: Could you look into adding a keybind for stopping head tracking?

Also, in MSFS it is possible to use the head tracker (Tobii) and also the POV hat to still move the view simultaneously. This, in my view, would be the best option.

Thanks

we finally need a keybinding to pause or (de)activate any connected headtracker

I know TrackIR at least has a pause command. Once you become acclimated to head tracking I can’t imagine you’ll want to pause it though, that’s quite jarring.

Experiment with the response curves. If it’s anything like TrackIR you should have no trouble seeing any part of the cockpit or even looking at your 6:00. I think the default setting for these devices might not imagine you looking that far around. I know TrackIR’s default preset “Default” isn’t what we need in flight sims. Changing that setting to “Smooth” works better.

@SharpeXB When pausing Eye Tracker, you still can't use mouse or POV-button assignments to look around. Only deactivating head tracker in Controls menu activates conventional look control.

I guess the assumption is that with head tracking you shouldn’t need the POV buttons. I think if you adjust the response curves you’ll discover you don’t need buttons after all.
