How to prevent VR headset from auto-quit?

Think I saw a discussion about this a few years ago, but since technology moved on, is there nowadays a way to prevent my HMD (HP Reverb G1) going into sleep mode when I'm away from my pc for a while (resulting in DCS quitting)?

 

It's so incredibly annoying, that DCS automatically closes when you're not active for a few minutes 

 

(Not sure if it's of concern, but I'm using SteamVR)

Not sure you would really want a static image displayed in your headset with no movement for a length of time. Not sure why DCS would quit though.

Ah ok, you mean to prevent screen burn-in, good point  (I kinda assumed that was something from the past ).

 

Doesn't your DCS quit automatically after like 10 or 15 minutes?

No not that I have seen. Now I usually don't take breaks in middle of a flight but when something comes up and I need to it does not.

I don't want to take breaks from my sessions either, but tell that to my wife and daughter 

 

Hmm strange that your DCS won't quit automatically when idle. Anyone any idea where or how to prevent this from happening?

I never actually timed it, but my HMD turns off way too soon. Like 10mins orso. Also tested in 2D (VR off) and then it doesn’t quit. So it must be VR related.

It's one of my annoyances since swapping from a Rift CV1 to a Reverb G2. The Rift's display would sleep but as soon as you put in back on DCS would still be running and the display would wake up back into the Sim no matter how long I left it. The Reverb doesn't do this and no matter how good "The Boss" is when I'm flying / Trucking there's always occasions, like tonight when she called me downstairs for my tea that I have to step away from a session.

 

There's a setting in WMR to set the length of time before it goes to sleep though. Mine's set to 20 mins which is usually enough time to do what I need to before it times out but still feel the Rift's solution was better.

There’s also a setting in there that Lets Windows decide can’t think of it at the moment cause I’m not home but don’t let windows decide on nothing.
