norman99 Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 As stated above. Cycling through aircraft with the F2 key, causes DCS to freeze up. Install cleaned and repaired, with all mods removed except TacView, SRS & VAICOM. Log file included below. dcs.log
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted November 21, 2022 ED Team Posted November 21, 2022 Hi, it looks like a hard crash, no real clues there. It maybe worth trying to increase your page file. norman99 Posted November 21, 2022 Author Posted November 21, 2022 (edited) No overclock. I haven't touched my page file yet, but I'll see if that helps. Cheers. Edited November 21, 2022 by norman99

Definitely not a hawrdare issue for me.
norman99 Posted November 22, 2022 Author Posted November 22, 2022 (edited) Ok, I've changed my page file as suggested, but it has made the problem significantly worse. Now, DCS crashes within minutes of joining a MP server. Also no longer just limited to cycling views, even just zooming on the F10 map can trigger a crash. My last log file is below. dcs.log Edited November 22, 2022 by norman99
Flappie Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 You're having some serious storage drive errors: We can see a "SCSI" / "STORAGE" device disconnecting seconds before the crash is detected. 8 seconds later, the sim cannot load an AH-64D texture, which triggers the crash (probably caused by the absence of the drive). The minidump cannot be written to drive (I see a lot of crash logs every week, yet I think I've never seen that error before). You should check the drive DCS is installed on. And make backups of any precious files stored on that drive. This might be caused by a faulty SATA cable, or a faulty drive. 2022-11-22 14:15:21.635 INFO ASYNCNET (Main): Current ping: 7.7ms 2022-11-22 14:15:45.297 INFO APP (Main): Device unplugged: \\?\SCSI#Disk&Ven_MSFT&Prod_XVDD#1&5b4ab37&0&000002#{7fccc86c-228a-40ad-8a58-f590af7bfdce} 2022-11-22 14:15:45.394 INFO APP (Main): Device unplugged: \\?\STORAGE#Volume#{c241d3c0-4e90-11ed-a113-d43b041279c8}#0000000000004000#{53f5630d-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b} 2022-11-22 14:15:49.287 INFO GUI_MAP (Main): levelformap=0 2022-11-22 14:15:51.650 INFO ASYNCNET (Main): Current ping: 39.6ms 2022-11-22 14:15:53.584 INFO GUI_MAP (Main): levelformap=1 2022-11-22 14:15:53.959 ERROR DX11BACKEND (10420): Can't load image '/textures/AH-64D_lopast_FLIR.dds'. norman99 Posted November 22, 2022 Author Posted November 22, 2022 Wow, thanks for the diagnosis. I'm actually on a laptop, with DCS on a relatively new Samsung 970 Evo+, so hopefully that's not faulty. Strangely, I've never experienced any symptoms of drive failure or connection problems, but regardless, I'll have a deeper look and see if I can find anything. Again, thanks for the help.
Flappie Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Look into the Windows Event Viewer at the time of the crash (especially in the Apps and System logs). See if you can find some clue. ---
