I came back from a quiet long break of flying DCS.

So I set all up. Installed DCs, Oculus Link, made all teh Settings within DCS and Oculus Tray Tool and everything works quiet okay.

So I think everyone knows about this, your performance in VR could always be better.

So I was looking around the internet and found out that there is something new I've never discovered.

OpenXR/OpenXR ToolKit.

So since I found out that DCS via Oculus Link and Traytool does run much much better than via SteamVR I was wondering how it is with the OpenXR Tool or are most of the Oculus VR Guys still use the OTT?

Very curious.

thanks, Robin

I haven used either yet..  I just got my Quest 2 a couple weeks ago and have been using the Oculus Debug Tool.  Maybe I will try one of the others.

Thanks for your answere.

I guess Debug Tool and Oculus Tray Tool are the same with the Tray Tool having more options.

For example, if you change the Super Sampling or Resolution width within the Tray Tool and startup the Debugtool you can see it matches the settings of the Tray Tool.

OpenXR doesn't do much concerning Oculus devices in DCS because DCS already supports them directly. One of the advantages of OTT compared to the Debug Tool by Oculus is that one can create profiles to save changes and apply those automatically when DCS starts.

I’m using OpenXR with my Rift S.

The key benefit being the option to run fixed foveated rendering, which really helped my frame rate.

You dont have to choose between OpenXR and OTT, OpenXR its a wrapper for using OpenXR API on DCS through SteamVR, OTT its just a way to save OculusDebugTools settings as a profile instead of you set manually, you can use both at the same time

As @5ephir0thsaid.
The only comparison maybe between OpenXR (especially because of OpenXR toolkit options) and VRPerfkit
