Posohm Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 (edited) DCS World Open Beta 2.8.0.33006 Bug: If you loose engine - either by shutting it off, running out of fuel or whatever, and subsequently EPU activates - the INS looses alignment and you loose all inertial reference in the HUD ( ADI remains fine). To reproduce: 1. Enter a turn ( e.g. 30° bank ) 2. Set throttle to Idle detent to shut it off 3. Notice the EPU automatically activate. 4. Notice HUD ladder mis-align. [ Expected result should be that INS integrity is maintained ] An engine-out should not trigger a total INS failure. Trackfile attached. Example (old) hud video from the 80's showing an actual engine-out. epu_ins.trk Edited November 27, 2022 by Jestr 5

dorukakdoganli Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 I recently encountered an issue within the game that I'd like to provide feedback on. When the aircraft's engine flameout in mid-air, the INS loses power, resulting in drift in ADI and HUD symbology and flight path marker. However, this behavior doesn't seem to happen in real-world videos of flights.

The problem is that in the DCS F-16C the EPU does not power all the systems connected to the emergency buses. This is why the INS always looses power when you have a flameout in DCS but not in real life, because in DCS it is simply not powered by the EPU. No word on when this will be fixed. 8 -Col. However, if it's coming for you, it doesn't make you feel too good, but it does rearrange your priorities." Shrike88 Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 ED please address the EPU and associated electronic assets powered by the Emergency Bus when under EPU power. Thanks 5
