Hodo Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 The glare from the pilots seat flying the Apache with the sun mostly behind the aircraft makes it nearly impossible to see out of the front window. Sometimes there is even glare on the monocle. 1
ED Team Lord Vader Posted December 13, 2022 ED Team Posted December 13, 2022 Hey, @Hodo This has already been reported. It's WIP. Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
FalcoGer Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 (edited) would be nice if this got pushed up the priority list. because this is ridiculous Edited January 7, 2023 by FalcoGer 5
TEMPEST.114 Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Depending on sun angle the glass dividing the two cockpits is now virtually opaque and it significantly hampering the ability to visually id targets out the front of the helo. I know 2.8 lighting and stuff is a WIP but this has to have been noticed by most; when is it going to get addressed because between this and the F14's oval glass opaquely green, I can't see much out the front anymore.

Additional observation: It is especially extreme when shadows are set to flat (then it looks like in the screenshot above). With all other shadow options it actually looks ok. The higher the shadow settings are, the less annoying the reflections are. Maybe this will help a little with the fine tuning.
ED Team Lord Vader Posted February 13, 2023 ED Team Posted February 13, 2023 Hi all Like I said, this has been reported for some time. Thank you for your further details, they have been added to the report. Esquadra 701 - DCS Portugal - Discord
Captain Orso Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 (edited) SIX months after this first being reported... I was flying low over the water in overcast condition with no external nor internal lighting. When I looked out of the canopy at the water it appeared as if I have headlights turned on all around the nose of the Apache. I checked externally with F2 - nope, dark as the night. Then I realized, the "headlights" are caused by the the canopy glass __TL;DR ______________________________________________________________________________________________ If you can't fix it in a timely manor, please turn it OFF so the customers can enjoy the product. 01G8R Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Plus 1. Clear glass mod is a necessity in the 64 until ED fixes this. 1
FalcoGer Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 I think this has to do with flat shadows/no shadows. I have not noticed this since I upgraded my hardware and turned shadow quality up.

Still an issue at highest/lowest/flat/on/off shadow settings in VR.
Captain Orso Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 Found this: Clear Canopy Glass Works like a charm in the Apache! Unfortunately, only for SP - doesn't pass controls. Haven't checked in other aircraft, but apparently work wonders everywhere. When you hit the wrong button on take-off System Specs. Captain Orso Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 BTW I was online yesterday on a 4YA training server with the Clear Canopy Glass mod implemented, without issue.
