TH2GO DIGITAL PROBLEM and FIX

i got it to work at 3840X1024:lol:

the problem was that it wont go any higher than 2400X600 because it was in digital form DVI

all I did to get it to work was changed the cable from the TH2GO to and from the laptop with a regular VGA cable

SOLVED:pilotfly:

don't mean to jack this thread, but while we are talking on the triple head to go thing I was curious if anyone actively uses this with Blackshark? http://www.kegetys.net/SoftTH/

how would the performance compare to th2g? anyone tried both? just curious. seems like a great solution for those with an extra pciE vid-card lying around

I am using SoftTH on my system with Black Shark:

Asus P5Q-PRO

Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33Ghz (OC 4.02GHz)

8GB (4X2GB) Mushkin DDR2-1066 memory

EVGA Nvidia GTX-260 (core 216)

EVGA 9800GT 512MB PCI-E

28" Viewsonic 2835wm

2 X 22"Samsung 226BW

2x 750GB Seagate SATA II 7200RPM Hard Drive w/16MB Buffer (Raid 0)(WinXP_Pro Sp3)

2x 500GB Seagate SATA II 7200RPM Hard Drive w/16MB Buffer (Raid 0) (Vista x64/Win7 x64)

Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatality

Creative Inspire 7.1 Speaker System

Lite-On SHM 165H6S DVD-RW

OS Dual boot: WinXP_Pro Sp3 & Vista x64 Ultimate/Win7 x64

DirectX 9.0c

Thrustmaster Cougar (Uber2 NXT Mod)

Simped vario Pro Rudders w/F-16 Toe brake addon.

Tactile Feedback System 2.0

17" Touchscreen & Touchbuddy Software

TrackIR4 Pro

Logitech G-15 Gamers Keyboard

Logitech G-9 Laser Mouse

Logitech G-25 FF Racing Wheel

I run a resolution of 5040x1050 and Black Shark is really great with 3 monitors under XP Pro. I see a very slight perceptible FPS loss although I have not tested for the exact difference yet. I think SoftTh is an excellent solution. i have not tried the TH2GO hardware but it seems really great as well.

hey thanks for the replys guys regarding softth, I gotta wait until I step into the pciE video card realm before I take that jump, but it's great to see that it is working well with that app. cachya and soffth, simple and cheap solutions, great for the end user.

Ok, after ALOT of tweaking, I got it to work. Still tweaking my FOV, but I'm actually happy at this point :)

Just goes to prove that every piece of inormation someone needs to fix their problem is in the forums already, they just haev to look ;)

So, here was my original dilemma: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=41246

As you can see by the screenshots, I was pretty much screwed.

For starters, I was adjusting the wrong file. I was adjusting \modules\me_options.lua

(can anyone tell me what that particular options file is for?)

Anyway, I started adjusting the correct one. Now, I know up front that the TH2G does not support my native resolution. I have three 20" LCD's whose native is 1600X900 (the Acer X203H model). The stands suck, but for $139 and a 3 yr warranty on parts and labor nad a good picture to boot, it was a better buy than the 19" LCD's I was looking at. I have contacted Matrox and they will look into incorporating this native resolution, but no promises.

So, with the 900 height limitation, I have to go with a 720 height and deal with the loss of some vertical FOV (if anyone knows a way around this, please let me know!)

Here is a current cockpit view: http://www.xfire.com/screenshots/tota1/ss_file-a78e01689daf50eb3ef1eee944e2fa0e6492571c.jpg[/url]

Much, much better :D

So, here is my current settings:

    ["graphics"] =
   {
       ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "1camera",
       ["color"] = "32",
       ["heatBlr"] = 1,

           ["avi"] =
           {
               ["bpp"] = 32,
               ["resolution"] = "640x480",
               ["full_screen"] = false,
               ["aspect"] = 1.333333333,
               ["height"] = 480,
               ["width"] = 640,
           }, -- end of ["avi"]
       }, -- end of ["display_mode"]
       ["effects"] = 3,
       ["lights"] = 2,
       ["haze"] = 1,
       ["terrPrld"] = "20",

   }, -- end of ["graphics"]

My FOV is primarily due to the fact I am having to run 3840x720 since the TH2G doesn't support my native 1600X900 resolution. I compensate for that by editing the FOV's in the config files. I actually have more visibilty now than the picture I posted shows.

As far as frame loss, there's really not any that I have noticed. I am running a solid 27-30 FPS at these settings:

Antistropic Filtering via nVidia Control Panel: 16x

Anti-Aliasing via nVidia Control Panel: 16X

Gamma correction nVidia Control Panel: On

Game settings:

Terrain to medium (if I set it to high, it freaks out the vid card due to the forced settings).

Water to medium (not fond of really shiney water)

Other details and effects set to High

System Specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 9550 2.83GHz 12MB L2 Cache

Memory: 4GB G Skillz DDR2-1066

Mainboard: EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1 FTW mainboard

Chipset: nforce 750i

Video 1: MSI NX8800GTS 640MB OC edition

HDD1: 500GB Seagate SATA

OS: Windows XP 32

Case: Coolermaster Centurion 590

Fans: Blue LED 120mm front fan, 120mm rear fan, two Antec 120mm tri-cool fans in top of case

CPU Cooler: ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro

PSU: Antec True Power 3.0 550W

Thanks Total , I am so tempted but afraid to make a mistake really..

The digital Th2GO is 300 $

BTW i've you try to make it 8x 8x and no gamma correction ?

16X is a bit high for this single vcard..

Fly it like you stole it..

That's what I figure is making it freak out when I go to the highest setting on the terrain detail. Gonna lower it an dsee what happens.

Just been going through the training tutorials so far, so I haven't really had much of a reason to further tweak it.

Also, the TH2G is a godsend when working with multiple applications...

Imagine never having to alt+tab through your applications lol!
