Ramstein Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 I go to the page where you can choose a server to join, or start your own server, it is a slide show, stop and go, very jerky, almost impossible to click on a server. I can really just only use the search, and type in the letters in the server name for the one i am looking for to come up to click on it. In the past this wasn't an issue. This issue has been going on a few short months. I just haven't said anything until now. I don't have problems after joining a server or creating a server. My computer and internet speeds are fine. Any idea how to fix this issue? Flappie Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Hi. Can you please make a short video so we can compare and tell you if this is the standard behaviour? Then attach your dcs.log please. ---
Ramstein Posted January 3, 2023 Author Posted January 3, 2023 (edited) it's not in the game, so how to make a video,, it is in the server menu where you pick a server... Dangerzone Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 It's always happened with me. I just figured that it's normal operation with DCS loading in the server list. I normally connect via IP as DCS seems to be responsive every second for a short moment inbetween, or otherwise just wait until all the servers have loaded, and then it tends to be smoother.
Ramstein Posted January 3, 2023 Author Posted January 3, 2023 (edited) was a real pia to aim a camera at the screen... but there it is.. for many years it was smooth, now the slide show is terrible Edited January 3, 2023 by Ramstein ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
Flappie Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 (edited) Thanks for the video. It doesn't seem jerky at all, but I think I understand what you mean. Here's a video of what it usually looks like: Is that what you meant, or it's worse on your end? Tip: Click the star to the left of the servers you usually play on to keep them as favorites, then tick "Favorites only". This will be easier to browse servers this way. Ramstein Posted January 3, 2023 Author Posted January 3, 2023 (edited) Yours is not freezing like mine, at all! that's because it was in between jerks and not moving, I tried a longer video but DCS server said it was too large a file. it stops my mouse from moving while it freezes every 2 seconds seconds. I do keep them as favorites. or use the search and type in a couple letters of the server name. But, this is ridiculous! I just not sure which software to take the video directly from the computer screen. I probably have a program that will work, but so much work to get my point across! Flappie Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Run DCS. When in main menu, press Window key + LeftAlt + R to record a clip (it's a video recorder which is part of Windows). Go to Multiplayer for a while to show us the issue. Then click the stop button on the Game bar (right part of your screen). Video clips are recorded in your default Videos folder ( C:\Users\your_login\Videos ). ---
skywalker22 Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Only in VR, when I come to Multiplayer lobby to load all the server, there is a lot of stuttering, the refresh circle is turning and stopping (when in no VR there is just constantly turning) until all servers are loaded. Mouse dot-cursor it also disappearing and appearing. This happening all the time now, I am noticing since last update or so. I have Reverb G2 v2 VR headset, might be connected to it. Is anyone else experiencing something similar? -- oh forgot to mentions, when coming into Multiplayer lobby, for the 1st 10 seconds is all fine, then it starts to stutter.

RuskyV Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Although not a fix but a way to help mitigate this issue would be to shorten the search time by having the Multiplayer server browser actually remember filter settings. I have my favourite’s marked and checked but I still have to wait for the whole list to load in the background before they show up. It would be handy to reduce that time down by having the filters apply before the search initiates.
