LAlt+C just hides the cursor, Im talking about getting a keybind for this options in the VR settings:

This turned off centers the the mouse and lets you only move the mouse ONLY with you head. If we would have a keybind to toggle this option in game, we can easily center the mouse and use the head only for navigating the pointer.

A couple months later and here to say the same!

I am grateful in VR settings we can choose between free mouse mode and VR HMD view-centered mode. I would really like a bindable option to quickly switch between these modes. Where I can just hit the button to recenter the mouse cursor in the view and have it track my HMD movements, or click and let it go free.

The use case here is that I fly exclusively in VR. I have a mouse available to my right hand side, and I also have keybindings on my HOTAS for left/right click, mouse wheel scroll, and VR zoom. For a lot of functions I want to be able to quickly do this hands-free of the mouse just by looking and hitting HOTAS buttons. Especially in moments where it is not best to remove hands from stick.

At other moments, it makes more sense when things are calm to just grab the mouse and fiddle about. Quick switching would be very helpful here.

It would also be most helpful to get the ability to tie cursor movement to a hat axis in DCS. I have a Virpil alpha with 360 hat and it would be great to have an option to move the cursor around with that.

@dsc106

Joy2Key allows you to have a button to re centre the mouse and also to map mouse movement to a hat axis.

Happy to share how if you are interested.

If anyone is interested AND using JoystickGremlin I've made with help of chatGPT a plugin for the program to center the mouse.
I've tried many other ways of secondary programs (mousetoVjoy), powershell scripts, all failed. This one is working like a charm.

You add a plugin from a tab with +, run with the gear, set a button. Done.

Is it necessary to use a plugin?  Is there no native ability to do this within joystick gremlin?

I installed the plugin and it actually works flawlessly.  I was expecting it to be more work to install.  Thank you very much

for me is easy to use joytokey and assign a button to center

Simply choose what button you want to use , and assign this params to the button, and voilá, when you press the button the mouse centers itself, the values are 50,00 and 50,00 no matter your screen resolution.

@firefox121 sure, but it requires another program to launch just to do that. Considering that I need to run SRS, JoystickGremlin, VirtualKneeboard, WaypointEditor/TheWay etc to play DCS I'm into minimizing amount of programs that are required to launch.

"plugin" does just that, same functionality, within JG. Cheers!

@ricktoberfest As silly as it sounds, there was no such function. I was searching for it for a long time, finally I did it myself when had time to jump into python scripting. Glad you like it.

Ok, that's because you are running JoystickGremlim yet, is not my situation, but good point. In my "defense" 😅 must say that is a good solution for those that are not using JoystickGremlim , also joytokey is a small small app, it only took 3mb amount of memory and has zero impact in CPU usage.
