I am using an Alienware M15 R7 with Radeon 6900HX and RTX 3080Ti, 

upon playing DCS, the game constantly crashes to desktop after 5 or 10 minutes.

I have tried rebooting the OS, using DDU and clean installing graphic drivers, clean and repair DCS files, using Nvidia debug mode, redownloading DCS World, undervolting both processor and graphics card but to no avail.

I have also allocated page file up to 64Gb.

It would be appreciated if someone can identify the cause from the log files.

hello your pagefile is registering by DCS as 240 GB. thats way too big. set your size in both boxes as 32768.

My laptop does not crash in other games, such as cyberpunk 2077, modern warfare II, temps were average around 85 degress which were well below the tcc. I have geforce experience 3.26.0.160 installed, also tried rolling back to previous version and still failed.

Here are the results.

I also tried running DCS at lowest settings and still crashed. This could be a hardware problem, but running other games with high gpu loads did not result in crashes interestingly.

the pagefile size checks out here. weird that DCS sees 240 GB. have you renamed your DCS folder in Saved Games? you can rename to DCS.BAK or whatever. run DCS and the folder will get recreated with default values. do not delete because it has input device bindings. if the new DCS folder allows DCS to run without CTD then there is a problem in the original Saved Games\DCS folder.

ok, so i did find a solution to my issue, that may help you, as you mentioned "undervolting". After another crash i realized that last night i bumped my OC on my CPU from 5.7 @1.27v to 5.8 @1.27v, and while the PC has been working fine, ive started with these CTD, even though the pc is still running ok after.

Now if i do same clocks on adaptive volts it goes to 1.35v, so essentially im Overclocked and undervolted, so if you still have a undervolt active you could try adding more juice, or dropping your clocks (if its even possible to OC a laptop?)

i just done 2 heavy campaign missions no crash and was crashing every attempt before

hi again. you can benchmark it and post up. try using CPU-Z https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html you may have modifications to settings you did not know you had.

another thought is to verify your game files in steam.

Sadly, DCS still crashes to desktop with gpu and cpu undervolted, with fresh saved games folder.

i think but not sure. it looks to me you are overclocked on the CPU frequency. did you mess with anything in the BIOS? stock Frequency is 3.3 GHz. you can enter the BIOS on an alienware and look around. also look for XMP. perhaps your ram is OC. i never OC so i am far from an expert. there are others in the forum would know for sure.

3.3Ghz is my CPU's base clock, and I have tried disabling cpu boost to maintain at 3.3Ghz, but after 5 minutes of DCS the laptop started bluescreening. So I chose to leave the CPU on its default config.

Thank you for your suggestions. I'm getting a motherboard replacement on Monday, hoping that will solve everything and I'll report back.

i use the BIOS directly.. stock clocks and even turbo should be fine, but have you changed your voltage controls at all? like if you have adaptive/offset volts to something like -0.03v could be causing your issue. As mentioned, just 100mhz extra and no extra power was enough to cause me issues... try auto volts see if it stops crashing

also ona sidenote, i find in all sims i play (msfs & dcs) i get better performance with hyperthreading disabled as they load onto 1 or 2 cores, with very computational code, so you want beefy cores, not lots of cut down ones, but your milage may vary depending on what you use your pc for 😉

to add to what @CH4Pz said, getting a new motherboard, it will be factory default (safe). dell does not normally ship anything with any boosts. my alienware came without XMP enabled. i had to update BIOS and then set the profile i wanted.

excellent. was this system under warranty? if so, you found a quality control issue for Dell. hopefully they keep an eye on future systems.
