TGP is firing the laser when holding the weapon release to drop in ccrp. It turns off after weapon release button is released. I don't remember it firing before unless you pressed 1st stage trigger or auto lase demanded it.

It appears any time the weapon release is pressed it fires the laser regardless of the weapon.

This is correct. It’s firing the laser to get more accurate ranging to the target point to improve accuracy on release. It’s also been doing it for a while.

What's not correct is that the lower right HUD datablock should show LXX.X for the range instead of FXX.X. In fact the FXX.X is also wrong, it should show either BXX.X or TXX.X depending on the range source BARO or TGP.

FXX.X should only show when the FCR is ranging. I.e during AGR ranging (CCIP most likely) or during a 'lock-on' FTT/GMTT.
