Sutts99 Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 I've recently returned to flight sims after many years. I'd just like to say how impressed I am with the DCS P-47 and DCS environment. The flight model feels very authentic, the systems modelling is incredible and very rewarding to master and as for the clouds, wow, they're simply jaw dropping. I've never had to fly through thick clouds and experience that disorientation or cope with the problems of navigation and having to catch glimpses through cloud breaks. Very very immersive stuff. Well done team! 5

jackd Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 I just bought it, but it seems quite difficult to get the controls right without some extra hardware .... sooo many functions. With a warthog stick i f.i. i tried to figure out how to drop bombs all at once, now how can you do that? And then tuning the engine right as i keep loosing power and air speed.

Can't do it in D30 "early" as it had three separate levers to release ordnance from hardpoints. Can do it in normal D30 and D40, however, by selecting all three hardpoints on relevant selection & arming panels below instrument one and then dropping all three bombs with a single button on top of the stick. Cool-Hand Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 For the early -30 I arm the bombs and use the TARGET software to toggle the jettison levers one at time which works about the same as dropping the bombs in series, kinda gives a even spread like dropping in train from the mustang rather than all at once. Always both wings first then the belly 1
jackd Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 (edited) TARGET, i tried it years ago, must try that again after giving it up ... got used to NOT using it LoL. I have a Saitek pedal set added now, no problems then? Edited May 9, 2023 by jackd
