durka-durka Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Been searching around with no luck, so my hopes are small, but is there a Time-on-Target feature/mode for the Apache? I'd love to work on coordinated strikes. If not, is there one being planned? How do we get to targets at certain times? 492nd Squadron CO (F-15E): JTF-111 - Discord Link

If you know where your targets are, it's easy to calculate how much time you will need to get there. TOT= distance/speed
Floyd1212 Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 (edited) I think he is looking for a way to predict the exact time a hellfire will hit the target. Like if you wanted to coordinate a strike on an SA-15 from two different directions at once, but one helo is 9km away and the other is only 6km away. I suppose if there isn't a "mode" for this, some testing at the range could produce a chart with flight times for various distances. Edited February 7, 2023 by Floyd1212
admiki Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 There is a chart of flight times, but I am not sure if it's approved for public use, so won't share. Just google HF flight time chart and you can find it.
FalcoGer Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 (edited) Could probably make one yourself simply by shooting a hellfire and watching the tacview track, taking times for different ranges from ownship. Or if you have the advanced version you can get the speed over time graph for the missile and integrate and there is your distance over time. Edited February 7, 2023 by FalcoGer

I was also looking for this but since I didn't find anything I've made my own spreadsheet for TOT, its not hard to do. Remember 1NM at 1Knot = 1Hr, Distance/Speed = Time. Calculate delta Time (in minutes) from destination time - actual time, then (distance (NM) / delta Time) * 60 = knots you need to fly Since I know the rough estimate of FuelFlow, I also calculate the consumption and remaining fuel. I know it's a little math-intensive, but from my in-game research, you can get basically within a second or two with... 2(X1.38) Where the X is the distance in kilometers. It's not exact, and you'll need a calculator, but it works as a good rule of thumb.
ED Team Raptor9 Posted July 16, 2024 ED Team Posted July 16, 2024 What it comes down to is proper mission planning. Once you know where you need to be and when, you "backwards plan" from there to determine your routes, speeds, and takeoff times to be where you need to be at the time you need to be there. Such planning uses the formulas included in the Early Access Guide on the second to the last page. 1 Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man.
