We're going to need something to get those Hellcats up in the air from besides the Marianas.

Are you contending that Hellcats never flew from Essex class carriers?

One is on the way FYI.... 🙂

We don't know what access we'll get to the one made by Mag3. I assume like with Forrestal and F14 you need to buy the Corsair  to get the Essex Class.

And as far as I know, the Essex made by Mag3 won't be a super carrier style modual with deck crew.

Well aware we will be getting an Essex class carrier when the F-4U Corsair makes it's debut and it looks good in the screens I've seen, but as already mentioned we have no idea in the level of detail in it. I can't see ED depending on a 3rd party to provide the primary launching platform for it's newest WWII era aircraft and the rich history of the 3 Yorktown class ships should put it ahead of the Essexes, of which there were numerous ones, in the Supercarrier line.

😄

I'm sure ED has their own plans. 🙂

Try to keep the speculation/ hype at low to zero levels, please. If you're not going to confirm anything (cause you can't talk clearly for several reasons) better stay in the shadows. Bluffing is for gamblers not for gambits.

To clarify, it's simply this. ED has said several times that the have big plans for the PTO...it's no secret...thus speculating that they have plans for their own carrier based on their established tech is not exactly going out on a limb all things considered. There's been more than one public comment regarding PTO, including in an interview a few years back.

That's all. In any case I welcome whatever comes, and that includes the Mag 3 carrier.

No drama, no bluff. Hope that makes sense.

The drama is all yours. You are who has came across this threat and needed 3 post to finally "clarify" nothing. That's the only thing that you nailed and it makes sense.

After establishing my previously empty ignore list with the above poster, I'll explain to you that my comment was simply what I personally am confident in, based on what ED has said.

Nothing more, nothing less. What exists under my name is not relevant to this and had nothing to do with my again, personal opinion on the matter. I stand by my remark, and time will tell if I'm correct. That said, I agree with your overall assessment, and let's hope! I'd love to see WWII era personal on on a carrier deck and fly both the Corsair and Hellcat off said deck.

Best.

I would dream of piloting an SBD-3 or -5 or even both in DCS in multi crew, to be escorted from the f4f to midway and f6f in 1944

Wishlist : SBD Dauntless, F9F Panther, F6F Hellcat, TBF Avenger, USS Enterprise CV-6

Yeah. SBD probably the most strategically single most effective plane in history just a few dozen of then sank 5 enemy carriers in a month and hastened the victory over Japan by a year or more.

And the F4F the scrappy plane that could, even if objectively worse than the nemesis it faced, it together with the P40(another unsung hero) drained the Japanese navy of 95% of its good pilots.

Last night I came across a 3D model of a Yorktown class carrier developed by magnitude 3 in 2018,
The question of whether it continues to develop it also they abandoned in favor of the Essex class.

The Forrestal is a core unit - you don't have to own the F-14 in order to access it.

By the looks of it:

Quote

This coming year will see the continued development and release of many exciting aircraft and maps from Eagle Dynamics. Highlights include the announcement of the MiG-29A Fulcrum, Afghanistan and Iraq maps, and continued work on the CH-47F, Hellcat/USS Enterprise, and the Marianas World War II map. Please see our 2024 module development roadmap below.

I really hope we see at least one escort for it though, I only saw the LST Mk II and Arthur Middleton in the trailer. Though at least the Japanese are getting a Mogami (at least AFAIK).
