obious Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 Hi All, Has anyone else noticed what I can only describe as micro-stutter when banking left or right in VR? this is particularly evident in the Hornet but is present in all aircraft. For my test (although it's present in every quick-start mission, map etc), I've been simply flying the quick start F-18 Nevada mission. To reproduce, when in the cockpit keep your head still and move the stick laterally left and right and you should notice (if looking at the UFC) that for a fraction of a second the console gets blurry. I've tried turning off the 'G force moves head in cockpit' setting and that eliminates maybe ~80% of the blurry-ness but its not gone entirely. I also tried this with my OG Reverb, QUEST Pro and Pico 4 and I get the same result so just to be clear, I don't think this is headset, aircraft, map or graphic setting related (hence why I'm not attaching a track file). Anyone else notice this? Thanks Intel 12900k @ 5.2Ghz, RTX 4090, Samsung 1TB NVME, Thrustmaster Warthog & F-18 stick, Pendular Rudder Pedals - Quest Pro AV8B N/A UFC Build Log AV8B N/A PCBs for sale
Flappie Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 Have you disabled Motion Blur in DCS graphic settings? ---
obious Posted February 23, 2023 Author Posted February 23, 2023 (edited) I do not have motion blur in DCS settings enabled. Edit: correcting my previous reply. TKNARMZ Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 This is the same issue I have posted in a couple threads. I always thought it was a setting in windows that I set that effected all my games but now maybe its just DCS. You using Windows 11? I reinstalled Windows 10 and I can at least get a couple maps to run smooth. viper1 Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Hi I have the same problem in oculus rift S in MT . microstutter is permanent on every map ( Marians is unplayable now for me) .It kills immersion in VR while you look right or left. It is DCS problem because ver 2.7 was much smoother and without permanent microstutterring. Some say that it is solved in the latest patch but it is not. Regards
St4rgun Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 (edited) Nowadays when a new version comes in I only fire up an F/A-18 Marianas free flight mission to test a low altitude flyby over the island at high speed and look at the sides. Usually it takes 4-5 minutes to ensure, that it's still an unusable garbage stuttering mess in VR, so I ditch DCS until the next patch. I have no hopes now, literally months have passed only with the testing of the MT before "this state" which is right now a huge stepback for me in VR. If DLSS and Vulkan will be added at this rate this would take another YEARS to get the new and shiny EDGE which finally DELIVERS the performance in VR everyone's waiting for. It's a pity.
