GreyVulpine Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Running on multiplayer and going through my usual manual start-up procedure. After starting both engines and loading up pylons, I go to load -> Load DSMS (instead of load all, since I don't want to lose my custom HMCS settings). If I then look back and flip the safety cover for the ground override on my back left console, or flip the switch for ground override, those two will lock in place and I can't move them. This only happens in the few seconds when the DTS is still loading. If I load the DTS and wait for it to complete, I can flip the ground override off and on with no issues.
Solution Stuka Posted February 23, 2023 Solution Posted February 23, 2023 Reported. But I have to ask.... why would you want to manipulate ground override during DTS load ? 1 Windows 11 | i9 12900KF | 64GB DDR4 | RTX 3090 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals | TM MFDs + Lilliput 8" | TIR5 Pro

I suppose I could have waited on DTS load to complete before manipulating ground override, but it's part of my start up procedure. I may or may not have relied on ground override to stop my take off roll, due to forgetting to plug in my joystick. having control stick issues.
ASAP Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Well DSMS load shouldn't stop a physical switch from switching, so it definitely sounds like a bug... but I'm even more curious now, how do you incorporate it into your ground ops? I mean what are you checking by flipping that switch? and how does it stop a takeoff roll? I thought that switch was there pretty much exclusively for a maintenance function.

What, you've never reloaded DSMS just before touching down on a carrier and using the ground override switch and firing the cannon to stop in time? Granted, that's a pretty specific use case
