Ghostmaker Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Ive dropped the vr hz from 90hz to 60hz, ive set the open xr toolkit to FSR, Sharpness to 95%, turbo mode on. In DCS ive set dlss on, in performace, most other settings are high. Sharpness to 1.5 Dcs Vr pixel density to 1.5 In the f18 & f15 in cockpit are crystal clear, outside seems good now, low level if i look out over when bacnking i sometimes get a few trees stutter. The FPS is 60 to 61 low level now. This was in the river run time map using f15e No pictures as yet. Something i need to figure how to do

Wiggo Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 (edited) Hmm. Weird. Seems that with big resolution + new gpu + cpu ppl seems to put all filters off etc. For me my gtx 960 ti 4gb + i5 haswell (3,9ghz) + 20gb ddr3 = high settings but clouds = ultra; shadows flat; water medium. MSAAx2 + ssao + ssrl on. steady 30fps (dont laugh its better than with 2.8 same settings were about 14-15 fps :D) (yes I NEED atleast new GPU). Still. Seems that DCS is pretty good with running gpu itself? I have wondered should I just put that msaa off and try fxaa from nvidia itself. But I have BIG difference with msaa off vs msaa x2 NOT to mention msaa x4 (but that is totally no go with fps). Also noticed that maby the biggest influence nowdays with my old warshorse computer, is the draw distance. +5fps when dropped from ultra to high. But yeah, these are only my experiences with ~10 year old gaming computer, with updated gpu (though old , but not as old the computer itself) Oh. And my SSD is normal SATA 3 EDIT: Running OFC 2d + full hd (1980x1080) EDIT: Wow! Now tried without msaa (or taa)-> 89fps over +100% fps. This happens only with MT version Really recommend trying different settings with weird myriad Seems that MT version really kicks my cpu very much nicer, and it still has power if needed. I was on GTX970 just 2 years ago with VR! Remember it's always best to upgrade both cpu and gpu (unless it's only about higher gfx settings), otherwise you'll quickly find the bottleneck in performance. 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria

Gotta remember, this GTX 960 4gb was top of the line the time I bought it. Was not cheap also back then. It is still fast for some calcs. OFC 1080p optimized more or less, but can still do things if code is good.

Maybe it's time that DCS overhauls this, as it is very annoying; in real life visibility for planes at a distance is so much better, Zoom in to at least real fov if you want to compare visibility with real life. Spotting is currently WIP and due to some complaints they reverted the changes to some earlier version which now results in unrealistically good visibility for many VR users and it also looks really bad, without the option to turn it off.
