rapid Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Would anyone know how to increase the time out for TrackIR4? By time out im talking if you are looking at something say a switch to your right in the cockpit, the view will reset to looking forward if no moment is detected within a certain amount of time. MrReynolds Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 For that function (if I read you right) I just pause the track IR. e.g. zoom in to switch / mfd - pause. click keys and then unpause.
rapid Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 Pasue you it you say? I take it you mean F9? MrReynolds Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 In track IR you have 3 user defined hotkeys (as i'm sure you're aware). Pause - Centre - Precision. Pause just stops Track IR so you can move your head about without it affecting the Sim. I generally pause Track IR when I'm zoomed into the pvr800 to enter coordinates for TPs. Also handy when bombing in to deliver a load of rockets :megalol:
airea Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I understand what you mean and dont know a solution for that. When I approach the monitor and keep looking at the the ABRIS for instance for a long time, TrackIR centres the view. But I dont think that pausing is a real solution for that problem. I should not pause the game if I want to look at a certain place in the cockpit for a long time.
MrReynolds Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 airea - NOT pause the game, pause track IR. It Stops the cockpit head moving so you can play with the Abris etc. NEVER had Track IR centre my view unless I press the centre button on the stick. :(

DTWD Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I must admit I never really have a problem with it re-centring. I didn't even know it did. You must have some amazing kneck muscles to keep your head 100% perfectly still. It took me a few weeks of using TIR to figure out it had those three extra buttons :D Oh and a word of advice, re-map them to some really odd and difficult keys as to not intefere with BS. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
JG14_Smil Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 if TIR centers on it's own, you have moved out of it's camera FOV. Easy to do when looking close at the shkval or ABRIS.
DTWD Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Ah right, sounds like you need to tweak your profile a bit then. You need to increase the amount of movement you get of your in game head over your real head movement. Or re-position your headset and reciever. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
koyan Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 You can also Pause T-IR by assigning the 'Clickable mouse cockpit mode' key: Lalt-C, to your mouse button 3. I found this very handy.
dave4002000 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Yea, you're moving in too close to the screen and the TrackIR camera can't see the clip anymore, so it automatically centers itself to the default position. I have one of the rotators on my cougar setup as a zoom axis, so i look where i need to and instead of leaning inwards towards the monitor, i just zoom in with the wheel. Works very well for locking up targets with the Shkval. I don't believe pausing the TrackIR will work when you go outside the range of the camera anyway. Once it can't find the clip on your head, it centers itself. USAF Bomber Avionics Specialist, Ret. MrReynolds Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 As Dave (big number) said, zooming in game is good. I've set up my ant elev on the cougar for it, and another button for zoom reset.
