Mayhem00 Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Hello guys, I'm trying to make my first DCS cinematic videos since I love what everyone else does but I'm having some issues and searching the internet didn't solve it for me. So I have the replay and I want to catch footage of the fight. There are two issues: The text box for incoming/outgoing radio transmissions (how to remove it?) Audio from the incoming/outgoing radio transmissions (how to disable it?) I want to use real audio of the footage as well, so that's why I need the transmissions audio to be muted.
SloppyDog Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 One easy way to make the text and audio dissapear is to change frequencies, to some that the AI is not transmitting into. You won't be receiveing, thus no audio is heard and no text box appears. Also you can change the options in the AI flights for "Not Report Waypoint" or something like that in the Mission Editor, so they won't transmit what they are doing. If radio transmissions are absolutely necessary for you to complete your mission, you could take out the seconds they send you a message in the video edit. Besides this, I cannot help you out with more elaborated solutions.

The replay I have is just instant action AA - Easy on the Syria Map. My wingman still talks a lot (I used the RShift+M shortcut to toggle communications to - "player only"). This will be yet another learning curve, trying to make the AI "easy", copy the hostiles from the instant action scenario etc Edited April 6, 2023 by Mayhem00

All you have to do is open the mission in the ME, and do all the edits you wanna make, namely the frequency change so you wouldn't be listening to your wingman all the time. I would suggest to change the name of the mission in order to keep the original intact. But I don't wanna to dicourage you to try your hand in the ME. All of us go there eventually, it is a rich new world, with lots of things to learn, lots of frustrations, but lots of joy. It is amazing seeing a mission you just made working perfectly as intended.

Since you have the track file, you can edit it to remove the text. Tracks are simply ZIP files with the suffix changed to TRK. Look around in the various files the track contains using NotePad++. Somewhere in there you’ll find a line referring to the text overlay. Change “true” to “false”. If it’s possible to change the frequency in the F-15, there will be a line showing the frequency in one of the files. I suspect, though, that you’ll be out of luck on that one. 1 YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU1...CR6IZ7crfdZxDg _____ Win 11 Pro x64, Asrock Z790 Steel Legend MoBo, Intel i7-13700K, MSI RKT 4070 Super 12GB, Corsair Dominator DDR5 RAM 32GB.

I’m not where I can check but, thinking about this a bit more, I know that there’s a sim setting to mute radio calls (any appearing on the left side of the screen), when in an outside view. The most likely place to find that is the file called “Options”. Find the heading “Sounds” (I think that’s what the section is called) and look for a line something like “headphones audible in external view=“. Make it true or false depending on how the statement actually reads to make the sound disappear. Of course, this does nothing to erase audio in the cockpit but it should help with external views. While you’re in that section, look for a line about “Subtitles”. That line makes most radio text disappear. 1 YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU1...CR6IZ7crfdZxDg _____ Win 11 Pro x64, Asrock Z790 Steel Legend MoBo, Intel i7-13700K, MSI RKT 4070 Super 12GB, Corsair Dominator DDR5 RAM 32GB.
draconus Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 There's also a command in ME to turn off built-in ATC - have to set a trigger for it afair. Generally what was in the mission will also be in the replay. 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
