Hammer3246 Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 (edited) So Quest Pro, wired USB3 Alienware 15 13900kf, RTX 4090, 64GB. Game installed on SSD. Audio cuts in and out during game play. MT latest Beta (just purchased the HMD so I don't know if the last beta did the same, ST no different) the Hanger is fine. Any ideas? Cheers!!! slughead Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 (edited) I have been experiencing this too. I thought I had solved it but then it occurred again yesterday. Today I somehow managed to completely break my Oculus Link through some settings in the ODT. I have since managed to get it back again. During the process, I uninstalled the Oculus software which was probably not necessary. I believe I am now back to the default configuration and I am not using Oculus Tray Tool at the moment. One flight so far without problems. I will continue to monitor the issue. I am running at 72Hz. Don't know whether you've done this already but after uninstalling Oculus Software you need to also go to into your Windows User folder and in the AppData folder delete any and all Oculus folders. This clears any trace of leftover settings from your system prior to re-installing the client. I've had to do this about 10 times in the last year! It will then allow a completely clean install of the client software. Hope you're good to go anyway. slughead Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Yes, I am up and running again. It was very frustrating! I'll remember to delete any leftover folders for next time. I did have a poke around and in the register but didn't see anything after uninstalling. Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! slughead Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 I haven't had this happen on "the other combat" sim. Have you noticed it on any other VR games/apps? I'll give DCS single thread a try next and see if it happens with that. Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Hammer3246 Posted April 18, 2023 Author Posted April 18, 2023 I haven't tried any thing other than single thread, and it was the same. 13900KF NVD4090 32RAM G2

Ruda_Malpa Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 I'm not sure whether it is a placebo or not, but I believe that my audio cutting out issues improved once I disabled audio enhancements in Windows sound settings.
Ruda_Malpa Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 I'm using powered link cable. Bitrate set to 700. I was experimenting with 960, but couldn't see a difference.
slughead Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 And... do you have this problem with any other VR game? Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Slugmouse Demonstration Video
Ruda_Malpa Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 I'm not sure. I don't remember if my last MSFS session was with external headphones or Quest Pro speakers. Before I disabled sound enhancements flying Huey was unbearable. I'm still getting an occasional sound stutter, but there is a huge improvement.

skywalker22 Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 I got my Quest Pro yesterday, and finally managed to make DCS work "properly". But there is that crackling (cutting out) sound, like you have experienced it. So I am wondering, has anyone salved this issue?
skywalker22 Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 I figure it out on my own, in OculusDebugTool.exe these two params have to be 0:

Sile Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 I have sound jitter / crackling in the QPro in DCS, too. Not tested any other sim, yet. So back to using my normal headset over the Qpro . Following this thread if someone finds a fix...
slughead Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 I don't know if I have narrowed this down as I have to do more testing. I recently turned off OpenXR Toolkit for preparation for ETFR (eye-tracked foveated rendering). I don't actually use any of the features of the OpenXR Toolkit anymore other than the in-game performance metrics. So far, the problem is significantly improved. The only other change I did at about the same time (yeah, I know, I should only make one change at a time) is to set the Dynamic Bit Rate Offset in ODT to 50. I run with Encode Dynamic Bitrate "Enabled" and everything else at default. 1 Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! slughead Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 What I can confirm is that setting the encoder rate to 960mbps makes it worse! Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Slugmouse Demonstration Video

Flyingfish Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Has anyone found a solution to this? It's really bad for me on the 2.9 update RTX 4090, AMD 9800x3D, 64GB Ram
