Pretense V1.6 - 21 Jan 2024

Note: This update will start a new mission save file, resetting your mission progress. The player profiles will remain unaffected.

Anyone having issues with performance in this mission? When hosting a server everyone starts desyncing, have not had issues like this with most other self-hosted missions.

Pretense V1.6.1 - 22 Jan 2024

  • Replaced F-14s of Apex Flight with F/A-18s cause they were misbehaving
  • Split Harriers on Invincible into two separate flights
  • Limited Zone selection of CAP flights to near frontline to reduce clutter in radio menu
  • Tentative fix for error when updating state of AI aircraft
  • Fixed issue with activating multiple target menus at once generating wrong menus

Thanks again for this fantastic mission, pretty much all I'm doing now.  Is there a way to add statics to the carrier deck? I have a modified runway&routes file i use with my Airboss to get the proper launch cycle flow and need to strategically place a few blocking statics to make sure the E2 launches first, etc....

When I add them in now, as soon as the mission starts they all instantly port over to a land area on the coast, I assume it has to do with the zone?

That might be cause the carrier is moved on mission start to its last recorded location.

Well, you can disable it if you want, you just have to remove the mist.teleportToPoint(vars) function in PersistenceManager:restoreCarriers().

But there's a reason I've made them persistent.

Hello, is there a way to view this with single player or mission editor? Every time I try it says pretense disabled. I'm making a map and would like to possibly adopt this. I downloaded the Caucasus version and I read the manual on github I would just like to see it in action. Also does it only work with mist, I only have used moose so I don't really know much about mist. Thanks!

I downloaded both Syria and Caucasus and tried both a little bit ago. Still get the pop up message saying pretense disabled.

It says Persistence disabled if you've not allowed for persistence.  See GitHub for details.  Pretense is running fine.  😉

  • Fixed carrier stop command not being applied when reaching a goto waypoint
  • Fixed Nova flight on Caucasus not spawning on LHA

Pretense v1.6.4 - 03 Feb 2024

  • Reduced max supply of carriers
  • Added resource cost to taking off from zones similar to carriers (configurable)
  • Caucausus: added spawnzones to Zugdidi to avoid units spawning inside map objects
  • Fixed naval command menu duplicating for players with rank 0
  • Syria (both): moved El Taebah convoys farther from intersection to decrease chances of getting stuck on spawn
  • Strike targets revealed by recon missions and spies now persist between restarts
  • Fixed JTAC not retargeting automatically on destruction of target

Pretense v1.7 - 11 Feb 2024

  • Recon can now be performed independently from a mission using the new Recon menu (see section 1.9 of the manual)
  • Artillery accuracy improved against zones that have their information revealed
  • Sabotage CMD option now has a 100% chance of success against zones that have their information revealed
  • JTAC now reveals information of zone its deployed to
  • Increased cost of JTAC CMD
  • Strike support can now only be called in on zones that have their information revealed
  • Added cruise missile strike support option for compatible naval groups
  • Assault convoys now have a small chance of deploying ambush and manpads squads somewhere along their route (valid for both coalitions)
  • Naval groups now have persistence on a member level, if main ship is destroyed, interaction with naval group will be disabled for the rest of the campaign

Note: Cruise missiles will only be available for campaigns started on v1.7 or newer

I'm using the F-18 on the carrier in the modern Syria map (v1.7). I can take off and land just fine (yay me) but I can't get any of the comms to work with the ship. Still fiddling with the radio but I wasn't able to get TACAN or ICLS to work. I see in the .miz file that it's already set up and is using TACAN 1 and 2, I think. Same for ICLS. I tried both in my hornet and the indicator just dances around in a circle. User error or a setting in need of tweaking?

It is *entirely* possible that I'm missing something here but I've used both of these systems before and carriers are a new addition to the map so I figured I'd bring it up. If anyone else is able to get this working then I'll know it's on my end (and I will ask how you got it working).

Thanks for everything - this series of campaigns is amazing!

Use the Other->Naval Command-> name of carrier -> Information option from the radio menu to get the actual frequencies and channels.

The ones from the mission editor are just the defaults dcs adds when you place something, the actual ones in use are set from scripts at runtime.

I could have sworn I changed the variables in the config as suggested to slow things down.  Not sure it did?  I used 7 zip to explore the .miz.  Moved the relevant file to the desktop, edited it, but it back in the .miz, saved the mission in the editor.  Is that not the correct steps?  Maye the sectors that are close just resupply quickly?  Also got a CTD.  Sent the crash log in, but idk if that helps you.
