Hi all,

my clouds are looking strange

My hardware (short)

Intel I7 920 @2.66GHz

XFX GTX280 Black

3Gb Memory

and Windows XP SP3 :poster_oops:

Settings: highest as possible with around 55 FPS :clown:

Anyone knows which settings I have to change?

Funny I was just about to post the same problem and saw this at the top of the list.

I'm using XP64 Pro and 8800 GTS. Nvidia Driver version 6.14.11.8206

I stopped playing, started it again after a while did the Su-25T mission a few times :pilotfly:

I looked at the clouds and tadaaa they were normal again...

I did also the Su-33 mission again as before and same thing

"miracle" :smartass:

The exact same thing happened to me!

Did a fresh install and was still there. Then suddenly after starting a game the clouds were back to normal. I haven't got a clue as to why it happened, but maybe it was different driver versions?

I'm on XP Pro SP3 with a 8800 GTS 640MB (G80 core)

nVidia driver version: 181.22

edit: thought I might include that I'm using Lock On version 1.02

On the Nvidia control panel add lockon.exe on the "Manage 3d settings" section

Look for: "Antialiasing-Mode" and select "override any application setting" That is what I do to correct the cloud problem, hope it works for you.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

...so guys, roll back!

MiG29movt, there's no point in 1.12b if you're using XP!

1.12b is for Vista people!

Intel i7 wasn't built for good old XP either...

I'm waiting for Windows 7

Vista wasn't that good for my old PC (AMD X2 3800+, 1Gb Memory and EAH2600XT or EN6600GT)

I think it even slows down such a system and now with the i7 and all that stuff it would use much more of the available performance but I won't spend my money on an OS that asks me twice for every crap "please can I do this, should I really do the thing you clicked onto??"

I hope Microsoft will do a better job on Win7 :worthy:

Well from everything I've read on the Forums, it doesn't matter if an XP user has 1.12b since the only extra stuff in "b" compared to "a" is the Vista compatable StarForce stuff which XP will ignore. That is the reason why most Community sites just carry the "b" patch and dont bother with "a", as "b" is good for XP and Vista users alike.....

Makes no sense what so ever but this worked for me too. I loaded misisons over and over to see if was just a fluke, but the cloud bug has not popped up again.

My global setting was already set to "override any application setting". Whatever, it works.

Thanks Mvsgas.

I'm having this pixelated cloud problem and can not seem to fix it. Overriding the antialiasing settings did not work.

Card is 8800GTS with latest drivers.

Any ideas?
