Avio Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Understand that the FM is AFM instead of PFM. Does that make much difference in the flight modelling? How good is that at this early launch stage? Also, what are the major features that are still work-in-progress? Always enjoy A2G, been enjoying the A10C (also the F5E), and this eagle seems to bring on the best of that both.

Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Think of "PFM" as a trademarked term that 3rd parties are not allowed to use. EFM used by 3rd parties is just as good as PFM, it's just called differently. The last module in DCS to use AFM was the FC3 MiG-29, and that was fixed a few years ago. All official modules either from ED themselves or from a registered 3rd party use PFM or equivalent. Only user-made mods sometimes use dodgy / made-up flight models. 3 Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 24H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON

SkateZilla Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 3rd Parties use EFM: External Flight Model, and the Fidelity can range anywhere the developer wants it to w/ the data they have. 1 Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
Avio Posted July 6, 2023 Author Posted July 6, 2023 SO bottom-line, is PFM supposedly more accurate / better than AFM ?
